Pros

Working from home is a good pro for this job.

Cons

The fact that you are clocking in all the time you work but then if the commission does not cover those hours and you get a pay in excess of commission is worrisome and confusing. We need time to work and provide excellent service but if we work more than what is the commission for we get penalized? That is not fair. Also in the calculation of commission the employer taxes are being taken out as a Golden gate commission so we are ending up paying those out of our meagre commission. Commissions have not been indexed or updated with inflation at least not to say about the loyalty some of us had put in. It really needs a change and overhaul to the compensation method that it is being used.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate you raising these concerns. We understand that compensation, especially when it involves both hourly pay and commission, can feel complex and at times unclear. Our intent is to ensure that all team members are paid for every hour worked, with a guaranteed minimum, while also providing the opportunity to earn more through commissions based on performance. To clarify, employees do not pay employer payroll taxes, and no team member is penalized for time worked. If there are situations where the pay structure feels unclear or inconsistent, we want to understand those experiences better and address them directly. We also recognize the broader point around workload, inflation, and long term compensation. These are active areas of evaluation, and feedback like yours plays an important role in informing how we improve going forward. We encourage you to connect with our People Services team so we can walk through your specific situation and provide clarity. Your perspective matters, and we appreciate you taking the time to share it. Warm regards, The eAssist Team

Pros

Ability to work from home.

Cons

You are essentially cheap labor for the office. Unfortunately, proven standard operating procedures are often cast aside in the name of keeping the client happy. The result is a heavier workload, the same deadlines, and no increase in pay. Commissions are typically split 50/50 between at least two people. More often than not, one person doesn't pull their weight, leaving the other to pick up the slack if they care about doing quality work. Vacation time is another challenge. Unless you're willing to pay someone to cover your responsibilities out of your own pocket—and hope they actually complete the required tasks—taking time off can become more stressful than it's worth.
