Beneath iRobot's veil of inclusivity is a traditional "Old Boys Club" (progressive edition) organization. Only "digestible" people of color survive here. Translation, keep your head down and mouth shut when your professional competency and self-respect come under attack by overly ambitious coworkers. Don't mention acts of abuse to your manager or HR, don't stand up for yourself, or discuss the matter with other colleagues. Instead, keep the abuse to yourself and find creative ways to navigate the environment without bringing attention to it. Here, diversity and inclusion are performative at best.
