I have been working at EnPro full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Competitive salary, good 401k,

    Cons

all your benes you pay for and they are not that great, a lot of hollow company programs not worth a d**n, an unstable CEO full of company-speak, not a career company
I was disappointed with their deceptive practices to their customers
    high turnover

    Advice to Management

start treating people like valued assets, not car rentals to run to ground until they quit

    Pros

EnPro provided a very diverse learning opportunity. You are able to see all the tax sides instead of just one and acquire a wealth of knowledge. They have an excellent 401(K) match and the company as a whole is very family oriented.

    Cons

Unfortunately while the company as a whole promotes work-life balance and a family environment, the tax department does not. It is a very inflexible environment and work from home is not allowed. The department is very lean which means you are constantly busy throughout the year and extremely busy at quarters, year end, and return time. If you are looking for a great learning opportunity and willing to sacrifice work life balance then I wouldn't be too concerned otherwise you may need to rethink making a career in tax at EnPro.

    Pros

Decent salary. Managing accounts was easy. You weren't really expected to grow business. Pretty low stress job. You had a lot of autonomy as far as when you wanted or needed to travel to the customer or the factories.

    Cons

Engineering was not the most ambitious. Pretty discouraging to hunter type sales person. A lot of negativity from upper management.

    Advice to Management

Quit. You are not good managers.

    Pros

The best aspect to highlight is the people. The company is focused on building an authentic community full of "can-do" attitudes and invests in employees' personal development. They provide great opportunities for new career challenges. The facilities making up the company have a long track record of providing critical engineered solutions so in a sales capacity you get to target critical markets (aerospace, nuclear, semiconductor, etc). Many of the facilities also have some long tenured employees that help create a family-like atmosphere that is welcoming to remote employees.

    Cons

As a sales rep you just need to set your expectations around the sales cycle. The nature of the products and markets served leads to long sales cycles so it requires much patience. They can also be complex with changing requirements so there can be many moving parts to manage.

    Advice to Management

Keep pursuing the Dual Bottom Line culture. It's a journey worth taking.

    Pros

Broad portfolio of companies in the manufacturing sector. Varied locations, international. Sound leadership with a strong cascading strategy and execution. Excellent safety and lean manufacturing program.

    Cons

Some growth pains during M&A activities for the leadership team. A bit too much employee turn at the Director/VP level during major changes created disparity in the strategic message.

    Advice to Management

Keep focusing on the development of the leadership team, continue to acquire different technologies to broaden the portfolio.

    Pros

it's a job if you do not have one

    Cons

led by a CEO who opted for the position rather than a religious career
Cost cutting, lean staffing, customers are lied to (and if you don't like that better keep it to yourself)
high turnover, everyone looking for another employer
    instant terminations

    Advice to Management

    get some religion

I worked at EnPro full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company wants to do the right thing. Hours are flexible in that you can start at work in a 2 hour window with agreement with your manager.

    Cons

Very political environment. Each plant is different, has different management and different ways of operations. No opportunities if you are over 50. They only focus on the young people for growth. (Good for them but disturbing for those that don't have one foot in the grave.)

    Advice to Management

Take time to find out what the real root cause of your problem is and then address it and not just put on a band aid.
