I have been working at EnSafe full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

EnSafe has given me the opportunity to challenge myself and build a satisfying career within the environmental, health and safety, compliance services we offer to our clients. EnSafe has further gave me the tools, guidance, and opportunity to engage in the business development sector of the company. I have been with another consulting firm for eight years prior to EnSafe, but opportunities mentioned earlier were never offered to me there.

    Cons

No comment to make in this section.

    Advice to Management

Continue with the EnSafe tradition that everyone has a voice.

    Pros

    I can't think of any

    Cons

no work like balance, criticizing, expect you to do less than accurate work, they have a handbook but they don't follow it, pay is horrible, expect a lot and training is horrible.

    Advice to Management

Follow your own policies, listen to your employees, don't let shoddy work happen, quality review your products, offer guidance, employees

I worked at EnSafe (Less than a year)

    Pros

Tight knit group. Management cares about employees. Little micromanaging. Nice office complex.

    Cons

Very little effort is made to create a seamless and easy way to find work within the company. You pretty much have to knock on office doors, send emails, beg, and wander around eavesdropping to find billable work if you are not in the "in crowd" which consists of long time EnSafers and GR2 technicians. It's understandable because people like to work with people they already know and trust.

    Advice to Management

I think EnSafe should work on creating a way for newcomers to the EnSafe world to get exposure and find work.

    I worked at EnSafe full-time

    Pros

Autonomy, very smart coworkers, open financials, good leadership/management team, employee ownership

    Cons

Mentoring and retention of junior/mid-level employees is lacking (especially of ones who could be future leaders in company), too much dead weight at top levels of technical employees

    Advice to Management

Continue aggressively diversifying share within ESOP

I have been working at EnSafe full-time

    Pros

Varying workloads with many different clients and scopes of work

    Cons

They do not uphold the handbook. The handbook reads that you are entitled to cell phone stipend if you are in the field more than 50% of the time. Almost no one gets this benefit. You are entitled to year end reviews every year. You will be lucky to have a year end review every other year. If you complain to HR about the handbook not being followed you will need to accompany that email with a read receipt. If not it will be ignored, if HR responds you will receive an email saying that something will be done and will go through the process again a month later. You are entitled to a professional certification or licensing, to obtain this you must go through HR. HR will not make an attempt to help. You will be told there are opportunities for advancement and years will go by and you might see two co-workers get a level bump. Unfulfilled promises and a bad office environment at my specific branch are out of control.

    Advice to Management

Take care of the people that you employ. Invest in their future and you are in turn investing in the company. Hold project managers accountable for poor management the same way you would hold field crew accountable for mistakes. Have every branch on the same page with HQ and everyone would be happy.
