I worked at Energetics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Everyone there is very nice, very bright, and generally passionate about what they do. Benefits are good (especially 401K and matching) and expected hours are very reasonable for consulting type job

    Cons

Few opportunities for promotion or advancement, industry is suffering from Federal spending cuts and company is losing some of its big contracts. Management does not really help junior employees with career development or growth opportunities. Financial compensation is below-average. When my primary contract ended, experienced little support from the company in finding replacement work.

    Advice to Management

Need better managers who are interested in cultivating their employees. Explore new company growth opportunities to improve employee retention.

I worked at Energetics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Mostly very good people to work with. Made some good friends in my time working here. Also learned a lot about the federal government and energy projects.

    Cons

I didn't feel like there was much promotion potential, and the work was pretty repetitive. Not very challenging.

    Advice to Management

Provide tissues for free. Be more lax about office hours.

    Pros

The people at Energetics are their greatest asset. I felt comfortable talking to my managers about any issue that came up during my tenure there. They were flexable, and respected a work-home balance. If you needed time off, you could take it and work out the details later. They also had a great 401k, educational reimbursement, health and dental, and profit sharing plans.

    Cons

It was a small company, so sometimes it was challanging to find opportunities for promotion. If you looked, and worked hard, it did not go unnoticed though.

    Advice to Management

Keep on doing what you are-- it was a great place to work!
