I worked at Enerplus full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Open with employees, great benefits, teamwork really exists here. Culture is important and a main factor in hiring is are you a god fit?

    Cons

Salaries are not keeping up with our peers.

    Advice to Management

Enerplus was a cream of the crop company 5 years ago and now it is just a run of the mill company where they offer little more than the minimum and depend on their past reputation to draw people.

I have been working at Enerplus full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I can from a larger company and here I really feel like I am given a chance to make a difference. I would say I feel needed and appreciated and I have fun. We don't have margarita Mondays or anything, but I seriously enjoy the people I work with.
We get results and still are given plenty of time to have a life, including every other Friday off in the summer and a week off at Christmas. Sure, there may be times with a big deliverable and I put in extra time, but there are weeks I don't put in a minute over 40 hours. We are treated like adults who are given the freedom to make our own schedules as long as we are getting results. I get plenty of recruiter calls and I know I could get a quick promotion somewhere else, but I make good money here and I don't want to give up the fact that I enjoy coming to work.

    Cons

With just under a hundred people in the Denver office there is not as much room for growth as much larger companies. But I do feel I am constantly given the chance to learn more about all aspects of the industry and when I ask, my manager always tries to accommodate development needs.

    Advice to Management

Continue the transparency. Even when times in the industry are not great, I feel like you always tell it like it is.

I have been working at Enerplus full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Competitive pay & benefits (I think); flexible working hours and vacation time; continuing to focus on culture

    Cons

Culture shift doesn't actually exist across the company, just certain silos; no opportunities for advancement/growth (management expects people to stay in the same role for many years before expecting change)

    Advice to Management

Provide lateral movement around the two year mark in any given role to keep people growing and motivated.

I have been working at Enerplus full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

People left after significant downsizing are positive and good to work with.
    Strong balance sheet.
Strong focus on trying to improve an already decent corporate culture
Forward thinking on how people want to work now and in the future.
Feels like we're ready to turn a corner as a company

    Cons

Some of the reasons behind the initiatives aren't communicated well enough, resulting in people making assumptions and being negative.
Canada could use more operational property to even out the balance in Capital allocation.

I worked at Enerplus full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Enerplus has one of the greatest benefit packages I've ever had and I really enjoyed the people I worked with.

    Cons

Senior Executive was great but middle management treats you like a number. It's not as much a people company anymore.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at the type of middle and lower management Enerplus used to have and return to that profile.

I worked at Enerplus full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There are no positive reasons to work for Enerplus.

    Cons

Enerplus is a horrible company to work for. Stay Away.

    Advice to Management

There is only mis-management at Enerplus.
