      Pros

Flexible work hours, employee independence, no micromanaging

      Cons

Benefits are slowly being stripped away from the employees who are the actual ones making money for the company. We don't get to see the profit we are making; no mid-year bonuses anymore, no end-of-year/Christmas bonuses, and bad raises, and the employee-owned stock we were forced into is slim compared to a good 401k investment. All company cares about lately is the bottom line and NOT its employees. New outside upper management is being hired at what seems to be monthly, instead of promoting from within. There are therefore no opportunities or reasons for employees to grow and seek new positions within the company. You stay where you started because they just hire someone to be above you instead of teaching you the skills you need to ensure you can rise to the next level. Seems like a cheap and impersonal way of doing business.

Working for Epsilon but directed by military/DoD personnel

      Pros

      - Huge variety of projects - Very friendly people - Always work available to do - Epsilon themselves are pretty laid back (experience may vary depending on where you are at) If you do good work there can be great opportunity to go government/ DoD Employee

      Cons

It never really feels like you work at Epsilon, it feels more like you are an employee on base or DoD facility but you just happen to get paid through epsilon. There are no pay raises unless you change your job position i.e. engineer 1 go to 2. The last con isn't so much about Epsilon but rather the environment they place you in. Working with government a lot of things are very slow moving and you have little to no authority so you really have to be a self starter if you want to get things done in a timely manner and do a lot of baby sitting on tasks. Also I can't speak to everyone's position but where I was at it was a royal hassle to get the resources needed to do my job. When I needed software/computer for design work I was being asked to do Epsilon would say it's not their responsibility and the DoD facility should furnish that and then the base would say the same thing. Eventually I was always using the guest computers. Took months before I finally got some resolution.

      Varies

      Pros

Your experience with Epsilon will vary based on which division you are in and who your supervisor is. There are some great, hard-working people employed there. There are usually modest annual raises across the board depending on which department you’re in, though in recent years they tend to be less than cost of living.

      Cons

There are a handful of people that have inexplicably been there for years even when their lack of work ethic has been common knowledge. Unethical relationships in the office, definitely a fair share of favoritism, and if you’re not lucky you will get stuck carrying the workload of the many slackers that have been able to hang onto their jobs for way too long. Careful if you’re brought on in a salaried position, you are expected to get everything done no matter how many hours it takes. The salary might look good until you do the math and realize you’re making less an hour than if you took an entry level position elsewhere, and would still be able to make it home for dinner with your family.

Great people in a growing environment.

      Pros

A lot of great people in the Jacksonville area working here in the company. Some truly hard workers, most of which are retired or prior military. The company has been very flexible and understanding of people's personal lives, and as long as it isn't abused, like no call no shows, taking time off is pretty easy. Benefits are competitive in the area. Room to grow as a technician. Since I started working here I have learned how to do a much wider variety of things than when I was in the military. So if you enjoy some hard work and learning new things, and working with a bunch of prior military then this may be for you.

      Cons

Biggest down fall is communication within the organization. Top to bottom and bottom to top. The Jacksonville location is still young though and is working through this. Growing environment, since it is still young and is under new management, there are adjustments changes taking place, but I believe it will be for the better, and get us more aligned with how the organization should run.

      Pros

Good working hours 7-3:30, get to work for the military. The pay is reasonable for the job expectations. The management is also reasonable.

      Cons

In the summer in Florida it can be very hot and sometimes the air conditioners on the ships are not turned on.
