    Pros

Flexible work hours. Insurance was good but Obama care messed that up. I cant think of anymore pros, there just aren't any right now. I would not recommend to anyone as a place of employment.

    Cons

The company only cares about money and not the people they depend on to make them that money. Salaries fall well below the average for the Jackson, MS area. Upper management has created a culture that is having toxic affects on the people they depend on. Overall morale is at an all time low. No one cares about the team aspect anymore, it's ever business unit for themselves with no constructive cross communication across the business units anymore.

    Advice to Management

Bring pay up to a competitive level for all employees and encourage business units to cross communicate and learn from others mistakes so the company is always moving in a positive direction.

I have been working at Ergon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy work. 3 weeks of vacation after only 5 years.

    Cons

Very political. Medical benefits aren't great. Men are valued more than women. No room to advance.

    Advice to Management

Don't talk about religion or politics at work. It's not good for business.

    Pros

    good pay and fringe benefits

    Cons

20% of the people do 90% of the work

    Advice to Management

more hands-on, in the trenches work and oversight would yield ideas of what can be cut out to enhance Ergon's bottom line

    Pros

-If you like the small refinery environment, the Vicksburg plant is the place to work. Only like 50 people work in the office so you know all of the engineers, managers, environmental, and support staff.
-Its a niche refinery, so I don't see it going anywhere anytime soon.

    Cons

-Not a lot of room for growth at the Vicksburg location. They're not offering full times to their Co-Ops as they finish with their third terms- not a good sign. Most companies always give jobs to their Co-Ops.

    Advice to Management

none that I can think of.
