I have been working at Evertz Microsystems full-time for more than a year

    Pros

It's a job - I certainly am not promoting working for them

    Cons

They're not really interested in you or your passions. You're essentially a tool. Very much a toxic culture where bullying is acceptable.

I have been working at Evertz Microsystems for more than 5 years

    Pros

It is interesting and challenging work, especially when you first start at the company.

    Cons

If the Upper management can save $50 on ANYTHING they will do it, being it sending you on a flight with 3 stop overs rather than direct. They may you feel like they are doing you a favor paying you overtime. No employee review. Projects are very reactive. lots of people leaving due to all of the above.

I worked at Evertz Microsystems full-time for more than a year

    Pros

cutting edge technology that eventually (almost) works visit high-profile customer sites ( fox lot, ESPN, CNN, etc) some smart people

    Cons

They pay 10-15% less than their direct competitors they take 45 days plus to pay expense reimbursements The mythical "year end bonus" is a variable amount and awarded based on popularity/seniority , not productivity You WILL work a lot of overtime, and Canadian field service personnel are paid overtime, but U.S. personnel are NOT Disconnected and apathetic management don't give a #$%^ about you. Arrogant upper management, abusive, profane language tossed at subordinates 80% is good enough, especially when the customer has no alternative idiotic software/firmware practices, many one-off builds carry same exact version numbers, technical product Information is actively withheld from the support and field service organizations customer service exists only to disperse complaints before they reach upper management, not to solve problems
