    Pros

    Competitive pay, good benefits, great people to work with, great location, good opportunities.

    Cons

    Over time it became very corporate. Employees started to feel just like a number.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to the employees who ideas for improvements to out dated processes.

    Behind on technology
    Under-paid
    If you become too valuable in your position, your chance of moving up the chain decreases and your pay doesn't increase.

    Advice to Management

    Sales isn't the only team that makes the company money. Without the other employees, you won't have those returning customers. Reward the people that keep the customers, not just the ones that make the initial sale.

    Pros

    Great benefits, like 401K matching, stock program, reasonable insurance, vacation and sick leave. The people are hard working. Fike makes great products that we are all proud of.

    Cons

    Executive Management 'clique' perception by outsiders is that EVP does not value the management team as a core group. Only two or three are allowed to make decisions. Seems untrustworthily.

    Advice to Management

    Let those in management develop their teams around sustainable goals. Switching up every year leads to chaos and looks unstable. Stop Micromanaging at the Executive position. Listen more-react less. Executive VP need to expand core group of voices to allow for more balance management team input and collaboration. Other managers see this as a lack of trust in their abilities.

    Pros

    Family run company. Strong team attitude. Highly respected in the life safety industry. Maintains a highly visible brand image globally

    Cons

    Company has recently gone through the a corporate wide restructuring and making an effort to regain relevancy in some of its core markets

    Advice to Management

    I would advise the company to gain a better vision of their future marketplace. The company needs to develop more thorough ways to obtain customer insight

    Help paying for school, opportunity for advancement, and great personnel to work with.

    Cons

    A little low on the pay scale for technicians, but not by much, other than that no cons I've seen.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing, it's a great place to work!

    Pros

    It was close to home and great the great people I worked with.

    Cons

    Looked down upon when reporting people for inappropriate behavior (racism).

    Advice to Management

    Deal with people that are the problem, not the ones reporting the problem.

    Pros

    People are generally supportive and caring, family is important. Most senior members are goal-driven and respectful.

    Cons

    Migrating between jobs is difficult, professional Improvement isn't a priority, misplaced elitism fosters an unwelcoming attitude.

    Advice to Management

    The Minimum isn't sufficient, need to take on industry-wide practices in multiple disciplines.

    Pros

    Most of the co-workers are nice and go out of their way to help you. Family environment. Some projects were good to work on. Was able to work on the a wide breath which included interacting with certification engineers, customer support and sometimes customers themselves which gave a broader approach to design

    Cons

    Promotions are slow. Non-productive employees tend stick around and cause strain on your work sometimes. Don't bother putting in extra effort at job, it won't be recognized w.r.t pay, promotion or bonuses. Projects management was more of a start-up like. Business unit (domestic and international) integration was bad. Very little requirements from a technical perspective.

    Advice to Management

    Recognize those who step up and work beyond their responsibilities to get the job done.

    Pros

    Global client base makes a stable work environment in lean economic times. Growth opportunities available. A family business feel, but a professional attitude. Recognition of healthy year profit totals and other milestones.

    Cons

    Benefits are not as competitive as Management and HR believe them to be. Cost of living raises should be above increases in insurance benefit. Failure to terminate less effective employees, even when there is increased tension from the situation.

    Advice to Management

    Huge strides have been made to improve short comings. Continue to value the employees and reward them honestly in benefits, fair salary and bonuses.
