    Pros

Awesome co-workers, fun company environment, lots of new employee benefits, awesome game room and yoga, fair compensation, awesome day of service each year

    Cons

Not the best communication. Not the best communication. Not the best communication. Not the best communication. Not the best communication. Not the best communication.

    Advice to Management

Let people know if there's issues and give them a chance to correct before just letting them go.

I have been working at Fishbowl Inventory full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Management really listens to what the employees say. There has been several times while working here where I had concerns, and after I talked to management they either resolved the concern, or explained it so I would understand. Benefits are great for this size of company, and the longer you are here the more PTO you get. As long as you work hard and do your best to improve your self you will be a valued employee. One of my favorite things about this company is there are several different ways to get paid more or to move to other departments.

    Cons

-Department to department communication sometimes suffers.
-Salesman are greatly commissioned more than anyone else(Like most companies though)

    Advice to Management

    Keep listening to the employees.

I have been working at Fishbowl Inventory full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great company with good people and a welcoming and fun culture. Pay is competitive (although many positions are heavily commissioned. Due to the success of the company, this has been a benefit for all). Benefits are generous and always being added to. Management is supportive and caring.

    Cons

Fishbowl went through a few tough years from a leadership level, but their patience was rewarded when positive changes were made in 2016. Yes, mistakes were made but seem to have been learned from and they are returning to top form.

    Advice to Management

Keep moving forward and learn from mistakes made. Great company, great product and great people!

I worked at Fishbowl Inventory full-time

    Pros

There are amazing people that work there.

    Cons

Executives are very out of touch. They keep trying the same stuff expecting different results.

    Advice to Management

    Take risk

I have been working at Fishbowl Inventory full-time

    Pros

Really great people to work with. Relaxed environment, and has a great product in the right market at the right time. Experienced revenue growth every year I've been here.

    Cons

Not that competitive with pay, need to be more competitive, especially with how the strong the valley is right now with other software companies.

    Advice to Management

Have more accountability. There are freeloaders who just collect paychecks. Increase the salaries to attract more top talent. Fishbowl has gotten better over the past year, but there's still room for improvement.

I worked at Fishbowl Inventory full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    1. Flexible Schedule.

    2. Adequate benefits for a smaller company.

    3. Most other employees friendly.

    4. Family oriented

    Cons

    1. If you don't fit into the culture or make friends with the right people your thoughts and ideas will be ignored or even used against you to encourage you to leave. One phrase used by the leaders in the company in company meetings and in private interviews goes something like this;
--- If you are uncomfortable here or don't feel that you fit into our culture maybe you should think about finding somewhere else to work. We don't what you to be unhappy when you come to work.---

This is very telling since it is clear that those in charge don't want any new ideas or anyone that will question established processes, because if you do you must be unhappy; so let us help you to decide to get a new job.

    2. Lack of training (except for support and training positions) There is no formal training set up for any positions in the company you either sink or swim.

    3. Leaders are young and inexperienced in leading and motivating employees. Fear and anger are used more than encouragement and understanding. Leaders do not mentor or foster growth.

    4. No Human Resources department. There is no neutral person or department to go to when conflicts arise, your manager or team lead is your HR rep, but often they have no clue about any questions concerning HR related items. If there is a problem between you and your manager there is no one to go to.

    5. No consistent review process on how an employee is doing at their job. With this there is no documentation of any kind for items needing improvement or items that the employee is outstanding on. Because of this if something is done incorrectly for the first time the management can say that an employee has been warned in the past, but that warning may have been for something else. It just gets lumped into one category of the employee is not preforming his/her job and therefor must be let go. So on the flip side an employee has no documentation supporting any good performance or positive contributions made to the company.

    Advice to Management

Attend trainings to learn to Mentor and foster growth from employees. Don't respond in anger when something goes wrong, things go wrong. Figure out in a constructive way how to make things better. Don't be afraid to change processes that may be holding the company back from making greater strides in success.

I worked at Fishbowl Inventory (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Most of the employees are great people, and Fishbowl does have a very family like atmosphere around the office.
If you work there for over 5 years you get a good amount of PTO!

    Cons

Promotions are given out based on how much management likes you, personally.
Management forced the only female developer we had out in tears (literally).
The development department is reluctant to consider any change, while they occasionally hold meetings to "see how we could do better" no ones advice has actually gone anywhere.
Everyone that has moved on to jobs elsewhere is making at least 20% more pay with better benefits for the same positions.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, and do something about what they're saying.
Pay developers based on performance, not on how much you like them personally.
Pay competitively, literally everyone that has gone elsewhere is making significantly more money with better benefits.

I worked at Fishbowl Inventory (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great people and friendly environment. Fishbowl truly does care about their employees well being with mandatory breaks and relaxation throughout the day. You feel like you're working with close friends/family. Everyone is happy to help troubleshoot an issue or schedule a ping pong game. The software has great features, and the company was very open with its employees as far as revenue and financial standing.

    Cons

A couple cons came from the positives. Sometimes, things were a little too chill and fun that work wasn't always done right or on-time. Most troubleshooting fixes were bandaid fixes instead of fixing the main issue. It was also frustrating working with people who only cared about numbers instead of doing quality work.

I have been working at Fishbowl Inventory full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Amazing group of employees (the best collection of many different personalities)
Flexible company with a lot of little perks (break room with pool, ping pong, shuffleboard, free cereal, relaxed schedules, etc.)
Opportunities for growth internally if you are self-motivated
    Multiple career paths

    Cons

Disorganized at times and somewhat rampant lack of accountability
Splitting paychecks with a few 'free-loaders'
Lack of quality assurance prior to releases, causes a lot of post-release bug work

    Advice to Management

Unfortunately, a few people need to go for lack of effort
More organization and accountability through job expectations
Software is quality, but needs to better quality, through better management of development processes (use of Agile methodology) and discipline for support and sales

I worked at Fishbowl Inventory full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Flexible schedule
    Reasonable Pay
    Learning on the job
Lots of great, hard-working, fun colleagues
    Break room

    Cons

Worst management ever. (Sneaky, lying, sleazy, arrogant, incompetent, nepotistic, self-righteous and more)
Just a few people ruin for everyone else.
No need for bitterness, but my advice would be to steer clear.

    Advice to Management

I don't expect it to happen, but if you could learn to be kind and genuine.
