Years of Indecision Lead to Unfulfillment

Pros

They do their best to create fair compensation structures. Despite consistent layoffs they have kept their promise to keep high school and college aged students on as a part of the team in some capacity.

Cons

Its the indecision for me. Literally years of waffling over what to do and which direction to take when they have already wasted so much time already. They had already let go of their most trusted leaders and then everything was just frozen in time. They would rather hold the reins than trust anyone else even for simple things. If you make every little change become something that requires the entire company then productivity is off the table.

Don’t be fooled

Pros

Some of the people are awesome to work with

Cons

Management is a nightmare and will pretend like they care about you only to overload you and then ace you after you’ve bent over backward to help them. Don’t actually share your opinions or ideas. Just go along with everything or you'll eventually get replaced. You could work on a project for months only for it to be shelved or never see the light of day. Which at a big company could be considered normal but at a startup is a huge waste of everyone’s time and effort.

Sold Out

Pros

Good pay and great people at the staff level

Cons

C-Suite and management level sold out their dreams of accessible education a long time ago to attempt to turn a profit using cheap, poor quality AI content. No boundaries, constantly changing job expectations, and huge amount of turnover at all levels of the company. They don't treat their employees fairly, and their retention shows it. They're constantly hiring and firing, and their diversity has dropped significantly over the years.
