I have been working at Foster Farms full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

No pressure, safe work environment, and room for advancement. Good equipment to drive and getting better. You get paid by the hour and are given plenty of time to be on time. Good benefits.

    Cons

A little behind the times. Some growing pains, HR is very slow during the hiring process. Benefits aren't cheap. It gets old listening to senior drivers complain of how great it used to be...in the 1970's! Not much of a regular schedule when you first start.

    Advice to Management

Get with times, just because it worked 30 years ago doesn't mean it works today. Communication is key!

I worked at Foster Farms full-time

    Pros

Excellent Benefits Package. Being a salary employee, it has its perks when it comes to holidays.

    Cons

HR needs to improve greatly. Other companies of the same size have a much better trained and effective HR team. When recruiting, they promise education reimbursement but do not tell you about the fine print. You need to have a superintendent position to even be considered for education reimbursement for a master's degree. They falsely advertise that they promote from within. Unfortunately, they hire somebody from the outside before considering a current employee that is highly qualified. Politics play a huge role when it comes to climbing the ladder; they are reluctant to innovation and fresh ideas and will only listen to your suggestions if are all for the company and not for the employees.

Wages could be better. There are a lot of hours to be put in as a salary employee. If you manage people, expect to have your phone in your hand at all times. Work/ Life balance can become stressful.

    Advice to Management

There needs to better training for new members of management, especially if you would like for them to perform flawlessly. HR needs to be more open-minded and consider both sides of the story when it comes to discipline. The education reimbursement program must be explained thoroughly to employees seeking a master's degree.

    Pros

Has a terrific R&D team, shows appreciation of employees tenure, able to work on many project across the company, large impact while in the position.

Location of HQ, still operating with a small company mentality, small engineering staff with many projects, requires high annual cost savings with little/no travel budget, throw you under the bus atmosphere, no room for growth, required many weekend trips.
