I worked at Gameforge (More than 10 years)

    Pros

nice work environment with a great video game product (Runes of Magic).

    Cons

very chaotic to work with German parent company, especially when parent company was taken over by Gameforge

    Advice to Management

Should never have closed US business. Things are run differently in the US, a stubborn German approach does not help

I worked at Gameforge part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - very relaxed n friendly working atmosphere
    - thanks to a lot of really motivated and great co-workers
    - some nice benefits (free lunch, snacks, cheap massage, company-paid team meetings, ...)

    Cons

    - bad internal communication, info travels slowly from top to bottom or even between departments
    - very short-term-revenue focused decisions
    - personal like/dislike playing a big role in decision-making + promotions
    - currently a severe lack of new n interesting IPs/games in general

    Advice to Management

Improve info flow within the company and pay more attention to feedback from lower staff, they actually know the games.

I have been working at Gameforge full-time

    Pros

I have the ability to control my work schedule. Autonomy to perform my job to the fullest.

    Cons

The people who make decisions at this company are not always the best people for the job. Sometimes it feels like people are promoted based on their social connections rather than skills and qualifications.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your lower-level employees. They know what the games at the company need which it seems none of the management staff have any clue about.
