I worked at Gameworks full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you like games where better to work but an arcade

    Cons

Company makes declarations from above from people that have never worked in venues.
They act as if they are hiding state secrets and you have to just scramble when they finally give you for information. For example - I need to order more menus. Don't, we're getting new menus. Ok, when? You don't need to know, we'll tell you. A month later: I really need new menus. Don't order, we're getting new menus. Ok, but when. Well tell you when you need to know. 3 months later on a Friday - here are your new menus. Let's start these items tonight. But the kitchen hasn't learned them and either have the servers. Well why not? Umm.. Because I didn't know when they were coming or what was on them? Don't make excuses!

They want to operate as a corporate company and not individual stores but they tell you not to share your ideas with other stores and their intranet is a joke. Everything has to go through 6 people and then they ridicule you for not having it done yet. Or not having the same idea another store did even though there is no communication.

I have been working at Gameworks full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This is an excellent place for employee benefits. Discounted food, free pool, free bowling, free video games, plus the Mall of America employee status gives you discounts on hundreds of stores and restaurants in the Mall.

    Cons

This is a late-night entertainment venue, which does lead to the evening shift working until past midnight.

    Advice to Management

Keep moving forward, keep progressing, don't stop advancing and making improvements

I worked at Gameworks part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    None. Seriously, not even one

    Cons

This was the worst place I have ever worked and I have been in the industry 20+ years. The management at this place us second rate at best. There are a few nice employees but the majority are trashy, rude and dramatic. I was literally bullied by 2-3 other servers for weeks with management doing absolutely nothing. This ended with me being threatened physically by another server and NOTHING was done; not even a write up. The managers lie straight to your face, talk about each other and their employees. This place is a joke and I have no idea how it is even open. Several times I worked a weekend evening shift and left with less than $20. Stay away at all costs. Seriously, don't even waste your time.

I have been working at Gameworks full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some of the managers are more than willing to share their experiences with you to help you grow.

    Cons

Hourly staff just looked at as a number. Customer is ALWAYS right no matter the situation.

    Advice to Management

Remember that your staff are the face of your business. Treat them with respect and they will work harder for your goals.
