I worked at Gameworks full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

When you join the Gameworks team, you join a family. Coming to work is always exciting because a new day brings a new crowd. The customers are almost always in a great mood, which makes the staffs job even more enjoyable. I served as a Summer job, and grew incredibly close with my co-workers. On my final day, they brought me my favorite dessert and balloons. I could not have asked for a better place to spend my Summer.

    Cons

This company needs to expand to more locations. It's unfortunate that I can not transfer to another location when I move back to college!

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing, and working as a team. The best is yet to come!

I worked at Gameworks full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you get co workers who are actual decent people that'll make your day best.

    Cons

Management is a total joke. Literally shocked place hasn't gone out of business. They fire employees that are there everyday but the ones who aren't or never show up are still employees.

    Advice to Management

Learn your priorities and you'll stop losing good employees.

    I worked at Gameworks full-time

    Pros

Friendly people to work with. But that's where it ends with this dying company.

    Cons

Management is a mess. No communication from every location and leads to financial mess. Company is hanging from a string and closing locations everywhere.

I have been working at Gameworks part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Free games
Food is 1/2 off when you work that day. Any other day is 20% off
    Co-workers are friendly

    Cons

Management is terrible. They don't care about how good you work. All they see is numbers, that's it.
Very bad communication. Barely tells staff anything. Something broken? They won't tell you.
Very stressful job with very little benefits.
They never schedule enough people for a shift. Always a pain when you are the only one there half the day because they are trying to "save money"

I worked at Gameworks full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you like games where better to work but an arcade

    Cons

Company makes declarations from above from people that have never worked in venues.
They act as if they are hiding state secrets and you have to just scramble when they finally give you for information. For example - I need to order more menus. Don't, we're getting new menus. Ok, when? You don't need to know, we'll tell you. A month later: I really need new menus. Don't order, we're getting new menus. Ok, but when. Well tell you when you need to know. 3 months later on a Friday - here are your new menus. Let's start these items tonight. But the kitchen hasn't learned them and either have the servers. Well why not? Umm.. Because I didn't know when they were coming or what was on them? Don't make excuses!

They want to operate as a corporate company and not individual stores but they tell you not to share your ideas with other stores and their intranet is a joke. Everything has to go through 6 people and then they ridicule you for not having it done yet. Or not having the same idea another store did even though there is no communication.

    Pros

Great Company with a great management team. Super laid-back and fun work environment that surrounds you with next-generation entertainment every day.

    Cons

The biggest downside (though some see as an upside) is the travel. It's enjoyable at first, but spending lots of hours in hotels and planes gets old quickly.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on eSports. You guys have something that really separates you from other arcades and you should make that the main focus of your brand moving forward.
