I have been working at Genesis Logistics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The routes generally pay $190 per shift (about $10 per store) and consist of 19-21 stops of about 20 min each. Many clerks are rude and slow to scan items necessary for you to collect invoice and continue with deliveries. Paid weekly but union dues and union medical is expensive.

    Cons

There are no managers just supervisors and various administrative types that mouth off. Repairs to trucks and issues with routes are mostly ignored. The warehouse runs behind and is staffed with temporary help that can't wait for breaks to smoke weed. Deliveries are made during dangerous hours in questionable surroundings without adequate equipment.

    Advice to Management

Turnover is always an issue (even 3 years since being hired). You bid for 2 days off (but are mandated to work a 6th consecutive day nearly every week). Management wont listen or think of solutions since all they care about is pleasing 7-11 corporate types.

I worked at Genesis Logistics (Less than a year)

    Pros

    It's a paycheck and that's about it

    Cons

Certain employees are allowed to call in (or have no call no shows) on a weekly basis with no consequences. Favoritism is very obvious with the supervisors. The employees that show up everyday and work hard and that are not favored receive disciplinary action if they do have to call in. Some leads, if not favored are expected to work harder but not say anything to employees in fear it might hurt their feelings. Even though it's a food warehouse, it's impossible to properly clean and maintain health standards when only 8 hours a day is budgeted for such position. It's also a deadend job because it's all temp work and will never be temp to hire.

    Advice to Management

Same consequences for same actions for ALL employees! Get the proper equipment for janitorial to do their job. Budget more than 8 hours a day for a 60,000 sf facility plus exterior grounds for this is not enough to properly clean and maintain a FOOD industry warehouse.

I have been working at Genesis Logistics full-time

    Pros

Decent pay, benefits, consistent pay check.

    Cons

Always night shift, pay could be a higher considering what we give up to work here. Management is typically direct hired from outside company.

    Advice to Management

Oh my God where do I begin. Management spends most of their time fluffing their 7-11 counter parts and in the end have no real power over company position. This company is certainly top heavy.

I worked at Genesis Logistics full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

One of the best reasons I would say to seek employment with Genesis Logistics would have to be, the friendly attitude from Supervisor and Employee.

    Cons

One of the only down sides to working at Genesis is, some times it could be a little bit unorganized.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be to create a second shift for the guy's who work on those trucks.

I have been working at Genesis Logistics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

work nights where there's usually less traffic on roads plus its cooler out. weekly pay. good insurance/benefits

    Cons

problems with truck fleet often .problems in finding correct/adequate equipment. .schedule isn't too flexible.

    Advice to Management

need to have better systems policies in place to have proper, safe equipment available.possibly change leasing companies .understand that having a fleet is difficult but drivers at the very least need good working trucks and equipment to run a route. need to assign equipment to drivers/routes and hold drivers accountable for loss or damage to equipment. allow for schedule flexibility by possibly allowing rotation of weekends for drivers who may want more family time.

    Pros

Faster you work sooner you get done. Pays better then most class c jobs.

    Cons

Night delivery, they operate everyday, so you work holidays. You deal with management who is either incompetent or in carrying.

    Advice to Management

Have your managers be part of the picking process.

I worked at Genesis Logistics full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The pay was good, the employees were great to work with. There dedication was unparalleled compared to others. That I have worked with. These guys give extra days at work work the major holidays and give up vacation time.

    Cons

Upper management does not care about employees. They expect entry level management to work 24/7. At the slightest change in wind direction they will fire you. I had a flawless record for 8 years and one infraction I lost my job for no reason.

    Advice to Management

Treat all of your people better, give better training and don't not care after all your employees give for you.

I worked at Genesis Logistics (More than a year)

    Pros

Plenty of work hours available. Be prepared to do a LOT of overtime hours each week.

    Cons

Terrible work conditions. No air circulation in warehouse. Chill warehouse workers are in below-forty (40) degree temperatures for at least five hours per shift, or more.
Listed as: "Long Term Temporary" positions. No possible advancement. No benefits. Now no federal Holiday pay. No chance to move forward in your career. Dead end job.

    Advice to Management

Change the way you treat your quality "Associates" by offering career advancement opportunities. Add such basic items as: Vacation Pay; Health; Dental; Vision; and Life Insurance benefits. Add Career Opportunities to those who perform well (Performance Based perks).

    Cons

They are very slow to change the pay is horrible for the amount of work that needs to be done. they think operating on a staff of all temps, except for management and office personnel, is a good idea.

    Advice to Management

    pay your staff more money.
