I worked at GeoEngineers full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good wages, benefits and vacation time

    Cons

Very bad manager. Unprofessional workplace bully.

    Advice to Management

Seemed like it was the Project Managers against the Home Office Admin instead of being a team.

I have been working at GeoEngineers full-time

    Pros

Great CEO, optimistic about newly developed strategic plan

    Cons

GeoEngineers hires great people, most of which have a masters degree but your salary to be below the poverty line for the greater Seattle area. It's frustrating to work so hard attaining such high academic achievements (a requirement to get hired) to then start your career where you can barely afford to live, let alone pay off student loans.

    Advice to Management

Really look at employee satisfaction, life/ work balance, happiness with position and I think you will be shocked. The current surveys you provide do not address the real issues and probably give you a false sense of employee satisfaction. Increased pay will help greatly.

I worked at GeoEngineers full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are a variety of projects to work on, there is an independent work environment and the company provides great benefits.

    Cons

Managers play favorites, It's either micro-management or figure it out yourself, Some employees get away with laziness while other employees have to make up the workload and A few long time employees ruin the easygoing vibe of the office.

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes and realize the cliques that plague the office and some employees are not pulling their weight.

    I worked at GeoEngineers full-time

    Pros

An interesting problem space if you are into environmental issues.

    Cons

Not a software company - their focus is on GeoTechnical and GeoChemistry consulting. Software development is a money sink for them.

I worked at GeoEngineers full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

GeoEngineers is a company that does extremely well in taking care of its people. Not just in 'benefits' (which are fine), but in terms of company culture. There is a huge emphasis on taking care of it's people both professionally and personally. I learned a lot about the power and importance of building good relationships, and built many because of the quality of people there.

The work life balance was very good for me.

    Cons

Aging workforce of 50+ year old engineers doesn't cope well with change. Company says the path forward is doing things differently, breaking into new markets, leveraging technology, becoming a disruptor; but very little time or effort is dedicated to actually doing so. There's a lot of power held by a few who really get in the way of being better.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to put some real teeth behind change efforts, otherwise people are just going to continue to do what they've always done.

No real cons that I can think of.
