    Pros

The benefits were really good. And that is about the only pro there was. There used to be a lot of pros, before the CGG buy out.

    Cons

-Safety is getting out of control. Makes a person feel like there is no trust with the employees
-They treated long time employees like yesterday's garbage when the slow down happen.
-When Geokinetics bought CGG, the Geokinetics employees got let go and CGG people took over and started the transistion of turning Geokinetics into what CGG was.

    Advice to Management

Good luck with staffing the outfit when the industry picks up

I worked at Geokinetics (More than 3 years)

    Pros

corporate environment; in-house i.t.; decent benefits package

    Cons

micromanagement, stubborn to new ideas and procedures, uncaring to employee needs, etc.

    Advice to Management

listen to your employees for ideas, consider retention steps to keep valuable employee talents and skills; consider employee hard work and not just judge solely on metrics; the budget is not there to maintain a bonus to management but consider employees for a raise for their hard work

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

There are really no pros with this company. They cut back on benefits and there are no raises period. Doesnt matter what department you are in or if you have been there for 1 year or 10 yrs.

    Cons

Very bad place to work for. Stay away at all cost. The company does nof promote career development. Never even had a job performance review until about a year ago which still doesn't make sense because if you meet your goals you don't get any kind of incentive. When you ask how can you move up in the company... They tell you to get your cpa but half the managers don't have a cpa which is a little contradicting.

    Advice to Management

Be honest during interviews about the company specifically the financial instability. Laying off people and hiring at the same time is playing dirty and isnt good for company morale.
