Pros

Health benefits starting your first day

Cons

I was only ever evaluated for my performance on tasks that were not the job that I was supposedly hired for. Getman justified misleading me on what I would be expected to do by, "We're a small company and so we have to be flexible to help other departments", and "This is a training assignment". I feel that it is unprofessional to say that a coworker is not doing their job, so when I didn't receive help from coworkers, it was assumed that I didn't ask for help, not that my coworkers were failing to help when asked. So I was blamed for not asking for help when things weren't right. Once Getman decides that they don't want you anymore, they do the typical corporate dishonestly bull; intentionally drive you out so that you will quit and they won't have to pay unemployment from firing you. But they will lie up and down, saying that's not what is happening. My boss even flat out insulted me, with no possibility of constructive impact on performance.

Pros

Interesting work serving an interesting industry. Lots of great people. Small town charm. Better than average pay for most positions. Room to become an "artesian" in your field. They will generally work with you if you have personal issues at home that need time. Management tries to make things fun. They're not discriminatory in hiring.

Cons

Small town charm with big corporate trappings. Tolerance of *some* dishonest and incompetent people. Inconsistent willingness to change or improve products and processes. Some people try to improve things but key players block improvements. Absolutely flat pay scale. It's an open secret you get paid what all your co-workers get paid for the same role, though they make it sound like you're in line for a raise if you perform better. Never seemed to be the case, it's not negotiable, and half the managers will admit they have no control over their employees compensation. The other half deny this or avoided the subject. On the other hand, you generally get paid over market rate for your work.

Job isn’t worth the pay

Pros

Good amount of PTO from day 1

Cons

It would be easier to list what isn’t a con. The company is still ran like it’s 1980. They refuse to improve or update their processes. Engineering doesn’t listen to the employees actually doing the job to make it easier and more efficient. Most of the management is horrible and only care about you when you aren’t getting the job done quick enough. Management is quick to lie or back peddle on what they said when questioned. They claim to be a family oriented company but have no problem forcing 10 hour shifts for months on end. At the end of the day they only care about how many trucks they can push out and get paid for at the end of the month.
