The owner is a dreamer and a very closed and distant mind. The whole place is managed by YES men just brownnosing the owner who does not seem to get it. Most of the guys that started the research and made for example the Brain Simulator just left because they were fed up with constant shift in management's mood and amateurishness in general. Since I was just a meaningless cog in the whole process, constantly being accused of being too negativistic because I was openly discussing possible problems and risks, I took an opportunity to quit on my own. It was a valuable life lesson of how not to run things.

The overall approach to developing AI is extremely naive. Management has no background in the field, yet they make all technical decisions. Research is unsystematic and conducted by management's dictate. Absence of published scientific papers is telling. Employees are required to work as contractors which gives CEO power to "insta-fire" anyone anytime. Criticism of management's ideas and methods is feared and thus non-existent. I have doubts that the company's intentions for AI are good. CEO's remarks on "world domination" are said only half-jokingly. The company is no longer doing serious AI research but rather selling the dream of researching AI to its owner.
