Pros

Goodwin Hospitality has provided a wonderful way for me to find "flexibility" of life and combine that with a uncapped earning potential. I've made more money each year I've been with the company. Additionally, I now have the time to attend all my children's events and eat dinner with my family each night.

Cons

Some long hours but they are hours I choose to work. Upside outweighs the downside in every scenario.

My experience with Goodwin was quite disappointing. The leadership is excessively controlling. They closely monitor every small detail of your work, leaving little room for autonomy or creativity. This constant oversight stifles productivity and creates a stressful work environment. The company often promotes values such as teamwork, and integrity but in reality, its actions do not align with these principles. There is a significant gap between what they preach and what they practice. The commission structure is heavily dependent on securing clients. If you don't bring in new clients, making money becomes incredibly difficult. This pressure can be demoralizing, especially for those who are just starting or facing a tough market. Some recruiters are unwilling to collaborate or do splits, often putting jobs on hold to prevent others from working on them. This behavior undermines the team's overall success and creates a competitive rather than cooperative atmosphere. The leadership team has not actively recruited for years, making them out of touch with the current market realities. Instead of providing insightful guidance, they repeatedly stress the importance of making cold calls and filling the funnel with candidates, without offering practical support or understanding the modern recruitment landscape. Overall, the disconnect between management and employees, coupled with the counterproductive internal dynamics, makes it difficult to recommend Goodwin Recruitment Agency as a supportive or effective workplace. When I began my training, 80% of the team left within the first few months. I ended up staying longer, but I wish I had read the negative reviews here beforehand.

Although the opportunity to make placements is available from day 1, you are correct that, building a client base is key to build a long sustainable business and we emphasize that in the interview process and throughout. This is why we provide the support we do, by providing leads to our partners and teaching them the best ways to client source to help build their client portfolio. We are sorry you had concerns with some partners. If we are made aware of these circumstances, we are always happy to address as we fully agree that teamwork is essential to everyone’s success. We are sincerely sorry this was not a good fit for you, as it is with the majority of our team, but we understand this opportunity isn’t for everyone and wish you all the very best in finding a better match.

A handful of the people I worked with.

Cons

-Working constantly to try and compete over the other 350+ recruiters to make money. -Classified as a 1099 but treated like an employee by their demands & micro-management. The idea that it's a "partnership" and "your own business" is the furthest thing from the truth. -Made to sign a non-compete contract that is insane and illegal in several states and the FTC is looking to ban them completely because they "hurt workers and harm competition". -Overt preferential treatment to certain individuals. -Hypocrisy on every level but certainly in their core values especially, "Integrity in Everything We Do". -Misinformation about the individual's startup costs which were around $2,000 in all before you make a dime. -Treated like a cog in a money-making machine with little regard for the "partners" as long as they make money. The more people they add to the company, the more money they make so that serves as their end game along with growing their database. -What is billed as a hospitality recruiting agency turned into a free-for-all of taking on every industry out there for monetary gains and specializing in nothing.
