I have been working at Hashrocket full-time

    Pros

Hashrocket has some of the most talented software developers I've ever seen. They're the epitome of a company who chooses clients based on what they believe they can provide from a value perspective and never stretch themselves to take on projects that are outside of this. Aside from really cool benefits - including grocery delivery & "open source" in the Friday afternoons - they have a genuine respect for their... employees and work to build upon their talents and work/life balance.

    I worked at Hashrocket full-time

    Pros

Lots of amenities, autonomy, a developer centric culture, and a strive to put the company first.

    Cons

Lack of growth opportunities, the company is happy where they are so people may outgrow them.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

    Cons

Consulting can be hard and it is not for everybody, you need to be able to communicate with clients and break down complex technical concepts.

    Advice to Management

We have direct contact with our CEO and speak with her on a regular basis.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Hashrocket full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good benefits, great activities outside of work, and close family structure.

    Cons

Very hard to get in to the group unless you are a very well known Ruby developer, you have to pair program with a partner and then there could be a week long interview that you have to work the entire week until they decide if you are right for the company. If you arent they let you know at the end of the week. If hired as an apprentice you could be let go after six months if they find someone better than you to... replace you with.
