Pros

• All teammates are encouraged to make decisions to the best of their ability, and when you need help, you'll find incredibly supportive people all willing to assist. • The culture is something to rave about. You feel part of a team even though we're all remote. Everyone meshes together well, which is a testament to how we hire. • Our customers are fans! We host a bi-weekly Townhall where we present new features, and the attendance steadily grows month after month. It's incredible to see live feedback from our users and how much they love our product and team. • We are always improving our product... fast. I've never worked with a more capable team. We move very fast, not only launching new features but also fixing any bugs that come up. This pace has compounded to create a product that is industry-leading, and we all feel like we're making our customers' lives better because of it. • Transparency is top-notch. Everyone is encouraged to voice their opinions on all topics. There's really nothing out of reach from top to bottom. This helps us feel part of the growth of the company and gives us a sense of responsibility for our success. • The vacation policies are great. You can take time off as you see fit throughout the year. Even if you just need a mental health day. Most requests are generally approved.

Cons

• The fast pace can be really overwhelming. If you don't learn to disconnect and take time for yourself, you can burn out quickly. • Information can be tough to find. Since we have so much going on at all times, it's impossible to stay on top of every single change. Instead, you must build your research skills to find documentation. This often leads to teammates asking the same questions over and over if we can't find the latest documentation. • It's hard to move up. Since we're all fully remote and across different time zones, it's hard to stand out. Unless you're entrusted with a major project where impact is inevitable, standing out in your day-to-day is very difficult. You really have to go out of your way if you're looking to get promoted, which often means working after hours.

Pros

A good chunk of the team started out as customers (myself included). We're short-term rental hosts ourselves, who used and loved Hospitable before we became employed by Hospitable. The opportunity to truly know what our customers need (b/c we need it to!) is super unique, and one of the most fun parts about working here. We're making real impact in the industry. We're growing super fast, and having a lot of fun along the way. The culture of transparency is embedded in every single part of the organization. All the way from our salaries to how we speak with customers. Our customers love our candor; it shines during our customer-facing events like our bi-weekly Town Hall, where our customers are invited on stage to give feedback or ask questions about what we're building, and their experience with our product and the company. There's virtually no red tape slowing us down. We move super fast; we don't wait for perfection, we ship when there's value. Sometimes this feels chaotic, but none of us would hope for the alternative. We use AI for everything. Our product is AI-first, yes, but we have access to a ton of amazing internal tools that make our lives easier as well. There's an expectation that we're leveraging AI for our work. If we need a tool that will make us better / more efficient at our jobs, we buy it and use it. No need to wait around for approval.

Cons

The speed and level of ambition CAN be very overwhelming. You do need to make sure you're willing to say no (when there's a good reason for it) and are taking care of yourself outside of work. The good news is that leadership is open-minded, and has a history of actually listening and changing course when it truly makes sense to to do. We've historically been pretty "anti-process" (in favor of speed to value) but are reaching the point in our growth where it's absolutely required to have some light processes to align our teams and collaborate well towards a single goal. These are all normal growing pains for a company scaling at the rate we are, but there are some challenges as we work through what these new processes are.
