Nice team members, always willing to help others. Nice office, free lunch is provided. FLAG like engineering culture, good for new graduates to be a will trained engineer.
Cons
Not clear about the overall company strategy. Changed frequently about the roadmap of the product.

Its in London... which has opportunities
Cons

Best years are behind them

- Was once a great startup full of innovation and promise. -Unlimited holiday is a nice gimmick - Really enjoyed my colleagues and peers
Cons
- Short sighted, naïve and weak leadership. Co founders are a bunch of Cambridge grads who have no other experience except running Improbable . Co founders should have been removed years ago as they don't have the life experience to take the company to the next level -Culture of burnout and crunching, mostly due to senior leadership overpromising our capabilities - Company is utterly hell bent on their 'metaverse' offering to the extent where everything else gets axed and shut down (like the Defence business, which showed great promise). I have no faith in this technology on it's adoption or profitability. It's the next 3D TV, perhaps even worse. - Redundancies were really badly tackled, especially in comparison to previous and recent cut backs. No care or empathy given from leadership to those impacted (Co founder appeared to be laughing and smirking during the last announcement to those impacted). Bare minimum financial support given to those who were made redundant

Pros
Unlimited pto Very flexible working environment
Cons
Poor line management who regularly cancelled 121 - lack of boundaries. SLT lied to the defence team about redundancies and a month later announced mass redundancies via a zoom meeting whereby the new defence team structure had already been worked up. Definitely a them and us culture of management whispering in meeting rooms and then making announcements via zoom. The CEO Herman N is obsessed with the Metaverse and doesn’t realise the impact that his arrogant ego driven actions have had on the workforce.

Pros
When I started at Improbable the culture was good and staff were treated well.
Cons
The atmosphere changed massively, and then later over 100 staff were suddenly made redundant. Just 6 months before this Improbable were massively growing and hiring new people. This even included enticing people away from their long-standing careers, only to make them redundant 6 months later. Many people were offered shares as a big part of compensation to joint Improbable, but lost all of them due to them not having time to vest. The redundancy package was exceptionally poor and was e.g. around 4x worse than offered at Twitter. We were not even allowed to keep our laptops to help us look for new jobs, as is the industry precedent. The whole thing was done in quite a cold manner too. Why go on a big hiring spree just to make people redundant en masse 6 months later?

Pros
- Great flexibility/work life balance - Exciting projects - Get to work with intelligent people who we can all learn from/share ideas - Very open environment where voices are heard - Clear career paths - Great benefits
Cons
Strategy over the past few months has been unclear and the CEO does tend to not communicate as frequently as before but this is getting better Financials sometimes unclear (comms could be better)
