I have been working at International E-Z UP full-time

    Pros

The environment and people are great! I love the medical benefits.

    Cons

Not great compensation, I would have a higher salary anywhere else. No opportunity for advancement. I've been there 5 years and in the same position. The communication with staff is very poor.

    Advice to Management

    Honest communication is KEY!

    Pros

The general staff are wonderful people in spite of low pay, no potential for growth and an upper management staff which has been there so long because they couldn't get a job with the same title anywhere else in the world.

    Cons

Director level staff are greedy. They will fight giving an employee a $1.00 raise but then turn around and give themselves massive bonus and vacations they call retreats. Don't work here!!

    Advice to Management

    Ownership needs to wake up!!

I have been working at International E-Z UP full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people I worked with are great people who made it a friendly place to work. Nice products but didn't evolve over the past years

    Cons

Far too expensive compared to competitors products

    Advice to Management

Trust that the people you hire are capable of doing the jobs they're hired for. If you don't trust them, it doesn't say much for your skill in choosing people. Communicate with people in an open and honest manner. They're intelligent enough to understand what's going on and what needs to be done. Quit discouraging people from doing the best job they can

    Pros

The work schedule is flexible and they do work with you around family issues. If you like a small "family owned" feel to your work environment, then it might be a good fit.

    Cons

Unfortunately after working here for many years E-Z UP has become a dictatorship where suggestions are rarely taken from anyone that is on the front lines of the organization. They want "Yes" men and women who fall in line with the direction from the top alone. This company used to be the leader in portable shelters, but with the introduction of other major players (some who used to work for E-Z UP and got tired of the corporate philosophy and formed their own companies) they have fallen behind in quality and innovation. I would say that a good portion of the executive management are un-qualified to operate in their job capacity and really don't care to make any changes to improve the internal operation or culture of the company. The morale within the company is very low and long term employees are jumping ship. Salaries are up to 25% lower than industry standard and they get away with it because of the economy. They would rather pay pennies on the dollar for and do everything in their power to pay the least amount possible. They pay cheaper wages to the folks that do 80% of the work so the executive management team and owners can hoard as much as they can. The management philosophy will make you think twice about doing anything out of the ordinary to benefit the company.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and be willing to look beyond the almighty dollar. If you instill a sense of empowerment in your employees I think you will be amazed at the results. When employees know they are being taken seriously it is amazing what dedication could be produced and with that success will follow.
