    I worked at Jetty full-time

    Pros

There are really great/smart/talented people at Jetty.

    Cons

Management. In a nutshell management is a really major problem here. Management is either young and inexperienced (founders) or experienced and underutilized/blocked. The culture used to be one of true transparency, autonomy, and empowerment but as the company grew things became really opaque and closed door. No review structure was provided despite employees asking for years for it. Employees were asking management for a review structure constantly to be able to see a path of growth at the company for themselves. Usually this kind of thing is the other way around where management just implements some kind of structure but the number one thing employees were asking for was feedback so that they could grow and improve and we just could not get it. As a result of no reviews or formal way of tracking how you were doing, there were no growth opportunities. Favorites were also played pretty heavily. The HR at the company was particularly bad. Management just cannot nail a good hire to lead the function and it caused a lot of unrest and thrashing around. The theme here is tone deaf and thoughtlessness. The culture has created a "way too nice" environment where people weren't able to disagree or challenge each other in a respectful way. If you are opinionated and you're not a manger then you get told you "need to watch your tone". If you express something management doesn't like then you are looked at as someone who is "difficult" or "hard to work with" (some exceptions here if you are male). When there is no forum for productive and healthy debates on anything, how does anyone grow much less the company? Management treated things like team Q&As with the founders really defensively if someone asked a question they didn't like/thought was challenging their decision making or choices. They would say they wanted feedback and that it was valued but if you gave it and they didn't like it then you were wrong/difficult/left feeling like you actually did do something wrong by expressing how you felt. Lots of really passive aggressive gaslighting going on. I feel like I have some work to do on myself now to unwind the damage from working here. I was generally made to feel that I wasn't capable of doing my own job on my own. Being female often meant being more like a secretary than a valued member of the team. The management team is made up of pretty much all white men. There is no diversity there and thus the way things are managed and the types of people who are elevated follow suit despite them preaching how important diversity is. Getting back out into the world and interviewing at other companies has taught me that I didn't need to endure all that I did at Jetty. Management wants you to feel like you should just be oh so lucky to work there. Like you should be the thankful one for them choosing to keep you around. That's backwards to me. They should be so lucky that they somehow attracted a host of really amazing talent to the team, not stifling them and pushing them into molds that they think are the only path forward because that's how THEY see the world. The thing is, Jetty has/had a really great opportunity in the industry but mismanagement is going to tank the company. The old reviews here are likely accurate for those snapshots in time. Jetty used to be a great place to work and even before I joined I heard nothing but wonderful things from people about the culture and environment both from the employees and people I knew in the startup world. But so much has changed in the last year or so. The decision making is flawed. There is way too much eye rolling from management when people do speak up that now people are becoming complacent. Even those who made the cut from the layoffs are looking for other jobs. The good news is, those people will find other jobs and they will find them quickly. The lower tiers of the org are full of really amazing talent that would honestly be better utilized and much more respected elsewhere.

I worked at Jetty full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Relaxed dress code with good benefits. Middle management is great and supports individual And professional growth as best as they can

    Cons

No room for serious growth in career unless you were in the “in crowd”. Executive leadership does not care about about people.

    I worked at Jetty full-time

    Pros

Prior to the change in leadership, Jetty looked like it was headed in a good direction with signs of improvement in many areas. Instead, Jetty took the worst parts of a start-up and a large corporation and created a hot mess of unnecessary bureaucracy in a sub-100 employee company.

    Cons

Long story short: One of the worst managed companies I and most of my colleagues have ever seen. Management doesn't care about you or your personal/career growth. They're only concerned with fulfilling useless, arbitrary metrics that do nothing to track the true performance of the company, as evidenced by them having to lay off almost half of their staff. Don't listen to the old reviews. A lot has happened since the beginning of 2019. Before 2020, there was no direction at Jetty at all, but at least there was autonomy and empathy from founders. Starting January 2020, I was treated absolutely terribly by brand new leadership that Jetty hired. I was forced, threatened, and even received sexist remarks by my new boss to take on a completely different set of responsibilities that would harm my career development and growth. This made me disposable at the company and essentially a secretary to my new boss. In the end, I was thrown out of the company with zero notice when they laid off half of the company during COVID19 pandemic (my boss didn't even have the decency to communicate with me during this, he even cancelled our 1:1 for the week prior to the layoffs) . I always worked my absolute hardest to make Jetty successful and to improve the culture, but always felt discriminated, undervalued, and disrespected working here. Working here ate at my self-worth, and gave me a lot of PTSD that I am trying to overcome.

I have been working at Jetty full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Love the people who I work with. They provide flexibility and work with each team member to try to find the right workflow for them. Management really wants the best for each person here.

    Cons

As a start-up, there are growing pains as plans for the company shift. As such, clear communication on expectations and long term vision and working through adjustments can sometimes be tough, but there is a real sense of "all hands on deck" to make sure things get done.

I have been working at Jetty full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I came from a (stiff) corporate environment in search of a team that was passionate about what they were building. I would have never thought I'd find it in insurance- but the Jetty team really gives a sh*t. And, it makes all the difference in how it feels to work for and with them. Everyone genuinely believes in Jetty and believes in their teammates, which means the normal political nonsense that occurs in offices when people feel undervalued and slighted - there's very little of that here. It's quite hard to get in the door (not sure I'd make it through now!:) ) but once someone is in, they are embraced for who they are and what they bring to the table - both professionally and personally. The work itself- it's one of the most challenging things I've ever done. But I have a really wonderful manager, and a larger team that is both (to echo another review) aspirational and inspirational as well as 100% supportive. The combination of the two means I get out of bed every morning excited for the day. And, we aren't a "normal" start-up culture - the team would rather a library than a ping pong table or beer fridge, if we have some extra cash- but that's part of what feels so special. My teammates are so (sometimes scarily) smart and driven, and they are all directing their energy into this build of something we all believe in... I could go on for another page about why Jetty is a fantastic place to work- but the last thing I’ll say is that anyone who comes here to put the work in and contribute, gets a seat at the table and gets to be heard. Many of our greatest processes and programs were team-driven and leadership-supported, not the other way around.

    Cons

It's going to be really hard to work somewhere else after this...

I have been working at Jetty full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Thoughtful, transparent and passionate leadership at executive and VP levels, with a strong focus on team and culture that act as the main fuel for growth. - Talented, fun and no-drama colleagues - enjoy working with everyone on my team and other teams. No egos, no B.S. - Amazing brand, design and consumer experience! As a salesperson, it helps tremendously to offer beautifully-designed and well-branded products. - Doesn't let perfect get in the way of good. Jetty focuses on iterating products, processes, and people to keep getting better. The company understands that speed to market is incredibly important to gain market share. - I work remotely and Jetty has provided me with all the tools and support to do so effectively. I'm included in all company events either by flying up to NYC or remotely via webcast and definitely feel part of the greater team.

    Cons

None that I've experienced thus far.

I have been working at Jetty full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Jetty has some of the best leadership I've been a part of. They care deeply about your well being as a person as well as your growth within your role. They're very selective about who they hire and have a fairly deep hiring process for the size of the company. They're great about investing in their people through unique benefits and a constant effort to evolve processes for personal growth and company growth. Overall a very strong company that I am super proud to be a part of!

    Cons

Because of the smaller size the culture is still forming but it's off to a great start. Small but growing company means the office is completely sufficient but isn't (yet) the super glam office you'll find of more established companies.
