Pros
Good research funding, great location (Seoul is a great city), excellent attention to health and excellent health benefits. Pay was good, competitive with G7 nations.
Cons
I felt that stress levels were too high (my blood pressure was consistently measured in the mid 90s during annual health exams) due to long work hours to keep up with demands (including many overnights, evenings, holidays and weekends) and what I felt were overly stressful annual reviews. I had issues with what I felt were unethical practices and felt there were significant barriers and little help for foreign staff. I would recommend this as a short-term place for foreigners, maybe for a one or two year post-doc, but would be cautious about longer term appointments.
