    Pros

Free car parking. It's like a comedy if you sit back and watch management unveil their catalogue of disasters... one after another.!

    Cons

The it operations department is ran by cowboys and has a tragic leadership. Absolute train wreck how it's going. Myself and the team can't wait to leave. Everyone's looking for anything but to stay at this mess. It's a catalogue of disasters from leadership

    Advice to Management

Cull the dead wood. Wake up and realise redgreen graphs is costing you valuable profit. If you don't fix then we're going to leave. Management are inexperienced in this field hence catastrophic decisions.

I worked at Kier Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent prospects within IT at the moment. real growth ahead. Some negatives comments due to sight closure but employee's given so much support with option to trial and relocate. Great work life balance with good benefits. Excellent recruitment process within IT dealing directly with business rather than the agency

    Cons

not good access to decent coffee

    Advice to Management

love your staff, make time for each an every one of them even if it is just one 2 one coffee. How much would that life the spirit of the department. Get out of your meetings and go speak everyone on Lysander share the vision, share why your still at Kier.

I worked at Kier Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good for the CV. Decent canteen and gym on site at HQ. Not really any much more than that I'm afraid. Good sick pay and benefits.

    Cons

IT department in complete disarray. Awful leadership with ego maniacs (many of which were imported from the very untrustworthy GSK leadership circle) calling the shots. You'll be fine if you're an emotionally unintelligent narcissist. My time there was littered with internal issues from race, sexism to fights and tears. All created by poor decisions by the leadership. People literally had to leave because of their health. The department is in permanent disarray due to constant restructures that the leadership team keep getting wrong and then having to rectify. The good people leave, the nasty people stay and get rewarded. The department is very top heavy and the guys at the top will do ANYTHING to keep their lucrative salaries.

    Advice to Management

    Grow a soul.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Kier Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Fair pay
    Usually easy to find parking
Clean & nice looking head office
Keep looking at recruitment updates for decent opportunities to move around when positions become available

    Cons

    Untrustworthy management
ZERO communication between teams and the rest of the company
More interested in pretty red/green graphs and 'feelings wheels' than actual results and situations
No interest in resolving problems that are persistent or long standing unless it's a flavour of the month issue (i.e it directly affects a V.I.P.)

Racism is rife even though the work force is diverse

IT management (from top to bottom) have no experience of actual IT, they only know how to manage numbers on an excel spreadsheet.
Man management skills are actively discouraged
Bullying is viewed as acceptable banter, often encouraged

    Advice to Management

The wrong people are in the wrong jobs, IT operations as a whole needs to be shaken up, the cartel from GSK NEED to go before Kier suffers as a whole because of their incompetence, these people are only employed because of who they know, their skills, experience, abilities and knowledge are HIGHLY suspect/questionable, their actions so far are blatantly damaging to the rest of the business and it won't be too much long before this is reflected in monetary terms.
