Pros

Not much to say besides its a carbon copy of its parent company, Cambridge Institute of International Education in Waltham. Offices are probably still in the same space. Parking is free...

Cons

If you've ever worked in China and experienced working with leaders using shady management practices, you'll already know what I'm talking about. Very odd, random company meetings and middle management that must have never been paid well prior to joining this company. If you're a teacher, definitely stay away unless you only care about pay. Then don't settle for less than 18,000RMB per month plus apartment.

Pros

Most people are really hard working. A lot of nice people trying to do their best. Free parking is a nice reward and lots of free fruit, birthday cake, lunches and after work activities provided and scheduled to "power up" the hard working team members.

Cons

This is a purely Chinese one-governor styled company that treats people poorly.Too political for sure. At beginning you wouldn't sense anything like that until 3 to 5 months later. Because in the interview they'd always play well around the questions you concern about by responding you ambiguously/totally faked-it-up. As a start, you hardly know what you should do because nobody is there to guide you. It's very likely that your boss ignores you over weeks before he/she finally remembers there is a spared workforce which is “you". The company is totally lack of focus. Most people find hard to define what the company is essentially about for that the leader drives the whole team chasing after all types of emerging opportunities without estimating its capacity. It's a non-essential business making the powerless people exhausted. In year 2015, about 2/3 of the team was gone. Some politely said that they were going back to school, some got a better job, some were under evaluated and pissed off, some found too tired to continue and some found being so unprofessionally treated that they had to leave and worst of all, some were at the end set up to be fired.

Unorganized with no leadership

Pros

Higher salary than other teaching jobs in China.

Cons

The company is unorganized with no leadership in place. decisions are made with zero consideration for the interest of the students and with zero knowledge of educational pedagogy. You get moved from city to city without much notice and placements are often changed at the last minute. They are a for profit company that cares only about the profit and not at all for the students. Students with no English knowledge are accepted into the program and promised "graduation" and "college acceptance."
