I have been working at LHP Engineering Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A couple years ago, when Cummins had one of its infamous downsizings, they cut 54 LHP contractors. In less than a year, they were asking for dozens more to backfill the holes, but Cummins' policy is that, once let go, you can never come back. So these folks had to find new jobs. Most were green card holders. No one had to return to their home country. LHP kept them on the payroll -- some of them for an entire year -- until they found a place to land. This was an extraordinary financial commitment. I commend the owner(s) for this.

    Cons

None. This must be five words long.

I have been working at LHP Engineering Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good for staring engineers who are self motivated and do not expect to be fed by a spoon.
Good for engineers with a lot of experience to consult for.
Their banked hour system is great for vacation and extra pay.
    Their salaries are decent.
Management is willing to listen to ideas and get excited about them.
If you are an engineer, you have more job security than admin or management.

    Cons

Observed holidays does not include clients' shutdown which puts a stress on you since you may end up not getting paid.
Management does not act upon good ideas they got excited about and if they do, they implement it poorly before abandoning it.
Management can blame employees for their poor management and the employees take the fall during any unfortunate downturns.
Management offers no support to new managers. You succeed or fail on your own.
Management try to expand too fast and end up shooting themselves in the foot.
Management is too focused on ROI and are not open to invest in infrastructure or the people.
They offer you a salary but in reality you are hourly. They are not willing to negotiate salary. What they offer is their final offer.
They do not offer training or career growth opportunities.
They play favorites to their lead engineers and managers.
Recognition is not a great aspect of theirs.
Medical and vision benefits are decent but dental sucks!
They stick you in one area regardless if you want to work in it or not.
    Very little development work options.
If you are not an engineer, you have less job security.
Management say that they value you but do not really act on it or show it.
Merit increases is nearly always 3% but it has been frozen for nearly 15 months.
Sales underestimates the work they are quoting for and it ends up being the engineer's' fault for not being able to deliver!
If you get on the bench (lose billable work) polish your resume because chances are you will be let go if you stay on it for 6 weeks.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your people and stop being short sighted.

Good community image. Good starting point for fresh-out employment.

    Pros

Flexibility and work with a lot of great people (possibly...depends on team)

    Cons

Multiple years of no yearly merit increases, no career path setup at all, low end pay, very little vacation days, and more transparency

    Advice to Management

You need to make sure to take care of the right people. I really hope things get better sooner than later. Hopeful with new management going up the ranks.
