Pros

- The company historically had a strong reputation in the Twin Cities and was known for quality repair work and customer service - Many long-term employees in the past were highly skilled and committed to their craft - Prior to the acquisition, the culture emphasized teamwork, pride in workmanship, and a supportive environment

Cons

- Since the 2024 acquisition by Quality Collision Group, staffing levels have decreased significantly across multiple locations - Remaining employees have experienced substantially increased workloads due to turnover, layoffs, and restructuring - Incentives and compensation structures that previously supported employees have been reduced or eliminated - Morale and culture have declined noticeably, and the overall environment has become unstable and difficult to navigate - Operational capacity and customer service have been impacted, with slower response times and communication challenges becoming more common LaMettry’s was historically known for strong customer service, quality repair work, and a reputation built over decades as a family-owned business. For many years, the experience — both for customers and employees — reflected a company that valued its people and took pride in its operations. Since the acquisition by Quality Collision Group in 2024, the work environment has changed significantly. Staffing levels have decreased across multiple locations, and the remaining employees have experienced substantially increased workloads. Many long-tenured and skilled team members are no longer with the organization, and the overall culture, morale, and day-to-day environment have declined as a result. In addition, several previous incentives and compensation structures were reduced or eliminated over the past year. Combined with multiple rounds of restructuring and layoffs, the workplace has become unstable and challenging for employees at all levels. Customer service and operational capacity have also been affected, with response times and communication issues becoming more common. The legacy culture that LaMettry’s was known for in the Twin Cities automotive community no longer feels present, and the organization appears to be struggling to maintain continuity through the transition. Given the ongoing instability, significant turnover, and major cultural decline, this may not be a healthy or sustainable workplace for most people at this time. Prospective employees should be aware that the environment has changed dramatically and, based on the current conditions, many candidates may be better served pursuing opportunities elsewhere.
