I have been working at Lantek Computer full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay is ok, and you do get to travel sometimes which is paid for.

    Cons

Does not honor contracts on their end, but will be happy to argue with you when you want to find work elsewhere. Paying more for worse benefits. PTO time has effectively been eliminated for consultants.

    Advice to Management

Be upfront and not two faced about your employees having a job one day and not having one the next. And put out a better effort at lining up other work.

I worked at Lantek Computer (Less than a year)

    Pros

They are a IT Staffing agency with relationships with a lot of clients. MOST of their contracts are high piad.

    Cons

Even though most of their contracts are high paid, their management is horrible and they are a bit racist. They will promise you one thing and then re-negotiate the terms of the contract without telling you. Then after waiting to have a job for a long time, you either accept a lower paying contract or just go without work while you look for a better position.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management is to be upfront with their staff. If there is no possibility for direct hire after the contract is done, then say so. That way the employees can prepare to look for something else once the contract is complete.

I worked at Lantek Computer as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits as far as medical, vacation, and sick days go, which is really rare for a contract agency.

    Cons

After I met my contact from the agency the first day on the job I never heard from them again, other than via email to inform me when my vacation benefits became available. When my contract eventually did end, they seem to put any effort into finding me another one. After giving them two months and reminding them once a week I was still looking, I turned to another agency whom found me employment elsewhere almost immediately.

LanTek, like most of the agencies in Pittsburgh, seem to have a special relationship with certain companies and certain schools (like PTI). If you aren't a student of one of those schools, they don't seem to try very hard.

I have been working at Lantek Computer as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Awesome benefits and fiercely negotiated contracts.

    Cons

Its contract work, so long term location is an issue.

I have been working at Lantek Computer as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

May have a good wage. Maybe a good place to stay while you look for other work.

    Cons

Recruiters are sales people so they slant things.

Help with a direct company placement as in not a contract but full-time may or may not be true

Example" you work with K&L gates. You may have to do some sweet talking to allow LANtek to give you a direct higher. LANtek at one time would say NO. this may have changed.

    At the end of the
