    Pros

Good people worked here, not management.

    Cons

Partners were the problem. Unprofessional in the office, not trustworthy and did not train.

I worked at Laurus Strategies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

This company was great to work for but was acquired by HUB International.

    Cons

Some managers were not trained well as supervisors. This is not uncommon in this field of work.

    Advice to Management

    This company no longer exists.

I worked at Laurus Strategies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Open to innovative ideas, client exposure very quickly, young and very smart workforce. Fun holiday party and events, generous vacation policy.

    Cons

Can't trust leadership. They will tell you that the company is doing great and making record profits and then, in the same meeting, that rather than matching the 401(k) contributions they will reinvest in the business. In my 5+ years there they never made the discretionary match.

Management will turn on you quickly.

For a benefits consulting company the benefits are surprisingly poor.

The pay is below market and not commensurate with the number of hours that they expect. Most people work one weekend day at least. I worked during most of my vacations.

    Pros

Good people, dedicated, committed to common goal.

    Cons

Bad leadership, misdirection, and false security. Company was eventually sold.

    Pros

Great office environment and a great place for learning. Regular party's and Happy Hours

    Cons

Little work life balance. Most people work 60 hours or more during the fall. Managers need more leadership training

    Advice to Management

Care more about employees. Match 401K

    Pros

Truly flexible environment, good people, and fun culture. Work hard play hard is the norm. New leadership working to make a place that people can thrive.

    Cons

Growing quickly, needs investment in infrastructure . How do you maintain culture while growing in different locations.

    Advice to Management

It's time to invest in systems. Glad to see you invested in people first.

    Pros

Corporate is on the right track building a culture which will someday support their growth. They have excellent consultants.

    Cons

Managers don't get along - no teamwork. Too many growing pains - they aren't managing their integrations very well.

    Advice to Management

Hire leaders who know how to manage people - not just processes. Deal with your problem managers before the environment is toxic.
