Pros

They were very tight knit, like a family.

Cons

They were very tight knit, and promoted a lot of friends and family with little regard to merit. They also had an endless parade of 'personality tests' to keep you on your toes.

Pros

It initially offered opportunities for growth and cross training that were wonderful. During its earlier incarnations and iterations, there was at least a company desire to create products that educated first and foremost. They hired good people and for the most part listened to them. Even when the company gained a new majority partner, this atmosphere continued. At least until the original owner took back controlling interest in early 2011.

Cons

New management brought in (after the majority partner issue) was completely inexperienced in production of any kind on any level. Hence their requests were not only the stuff of comedic movie caricatures; they were counter-productive, and even destructive to deadlines. Wrap all of that up in a political culture that was the cliché of “corporate” come to life, and it made for an extremely stressful and morale crushing environment.

Pros

They act like a tight-knit family.

Cons

No career advancement, no raises, no bonuses. Bad communication. More worked heaped on you with no due compensation. Nepotism. Incompetence. Need I say more? Personality test evaluation yearly to see how happy you are with your job. No one is happy, the tests just prove that.
