    Great product ,great people to work with
    Pay was very competitive with NYC jobs
    Easier to hire people so they don t have to commute to New York City

    some of top management was not equipped with people skills
    The new company doesn't understand the value of local people working for a local company

    Promote people who can deliver results and treat employees correctly

    Lightpath is a company with huge market growth potential. fair compensation and a diverse staff.

    the company is in the middle of being sold so the employees aren't sure of their futures.

    Pros

    Great network and customer support with a full product suite. Willing to build networks and develop products to support the needs of high end customer base.

    Cons

    Cumbersome process and scattered focus leads to missed opportunities and lost customers. Way to much emphasis on 3rd party white label offerings that are contrary to the core skills and value proposition.

    Advice to Management

    In order to achieve sustainable long term growth you have to take risks. Management has been reluctant to take on any risk to drive growth.

    Ease of systems - Small company feel. Customer Focus - Good Compensation Package.

    Cons

    Limited Product Set and Footprint.. Difficult to support large customers who have multiple locations that require lower bandwidth.

    Advice to Management

    Expand Product Set. Less Email. They need to communicate action plans and timeframes on product launches and organizational changes. Make yourself more accessible.

    A great company to work for that has recently began focusing more on infrastructure and core management which is vital to succeed in the technology world.

    Cons

    Need to continue investigating and investing in the future. Continued build-out to get "this customer" online will continue to create more work in the future.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to challenge the top and push the barriers down. Challenge the status quo, but be careful as it is often assumed that the grass on the other side is greener when it is usually not.

    I have been working at Lightpath full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Lightpath is a great company with great people. It may be true, as other reviewers have mentioned, that it has lost some of its "good times" (haven't been here long enough to know) but the leadership of this company is doing everything they can to stay innovative and successful in a very competitive industry!! In doing this, the "good times" will eventually come back as a by-product. This is a lifecycle that EVERY company goes through and I have worked at other companies (Fortune 500) that have failed miserably at trying to "come back". Lightpath, on the other hand is on the rise and has some great leaders behind it.

    Many of the complainers that have written a bad review are the type of people who just complain and do nothing about it. If you want your company to be a great place to work then YOU need to put in the work! Don't sit around and wait for someone to hand you the golden spoon. Those days are over, if they ever even existed. There are plenty of opportunities at Lightpath to make changes in the work environment, the culture, and to grow in your career all at the same time. Only the lazy and complacent will be and stay miserable, as is true with any other company. If you take the initiative to promote change and do it the right way (with the help of other strong leaders), you will not be turned away! Guaranteed! I can tell you firsthand that the leadership of this company welcomes change and wants to grow!

    Nothing that is overly alarming or too big of a wall to remove.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what your doing and try to remember what made the "good times" the good times. Talk to the more tenured employees and seek their help in making this one of the "best places to work", while hiring new and young talent that can walk in and immediately impact the culture in a positive way!
