Pros

MacPractice has a number of smart and enjoyable people to work with. The company has a solid benefits package including on-site perks such as a game room, indoor bike rack, gym and monthly potlucks. They have won multiple awards for accommodating the needs of military personal and are usually pretty accommodating to the time-off needs of the non-military employees. The company Christmas parties are enjoyable. As the leading Apple centric practice management and EHR vendor, they have the potential to bring great innovation to the industry.

Cons

MacPractice has widespread communication issues between different levels of management and across departments and teams. The company does not have a firm grasp of the fundamentals of running a software development project. There is poor planning, improper scoping and constantly changing requirements for features already in development. Development is anything but agile and done more by the seat of one's pants and by the whims of the office politics. The CEO, while essential in the company's early days, is unable to delegate and sets the product roadmap by poorly written public announcements. The company culture is not one with an emphasis in quality design, architecture and code, but rather one of struggling to get as many features out as quickly as possible while experiencing endless delays.

Pros

There is a good handful of employees who are hard working and skilled. Good benefits including health and 401k. Casual dress code.

Cons

Hard work is not recognized and very little appreciation is shown by management. There is not much room to move up within the company. Many of the higher positions are filled by unskilled and outdated people and the company is unwilling to make important changes to benefit the company but instead continues to hire low end reps to fill chairs and push out sub-par products. They are stuck in a quantity over quality mindset. Management focuses most of their time on social aspects within the company as there is a tight control over employee freedom due to little trust in employees. Raises are few and far between, even when deserved and in cases of "promotions". The company is quickly losing control of itself and what made it successful in early years.

Pros

Some of the people are ok

Cons

Where to start....pay is horrible. No room to move up. They will give u more work and a new job title and call it a "promotion" while not giving any more money. EVERYONE drinks and does drugs. There are no drug tests to weed out these people. Just a joke of a place to work.
