I worked at Mainstream Engineering as an intern

    Pros

Great people, great products, and at a great price. Made my job easier and I always knew I could reach out to any superior (especially Mike L.- he was great) if I had any questions or was unsure about anything

    Cons

one or two of my coworkers slacked off on the job and it wasn't really possible for management to tell due to remote location of the work sites

    Advice to Management

None- intern program gave me excellent experience in marketing/sales, and the company is growing and healthy.

    Pros

The company provides free soda and juices.

    Cons

Female employees are not provided the opportunities or respect that would be expected in a professional work environment. There is too much finger pointing when something goes wrong, with management seeking to place blame on the workforce rather than evaluate its own decision making. Management does not employ accepted practices to inspire and retain its workforce.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees (especially the women) with respect and appreciate the value of their efforts.

    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Mainstream Engineering full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good Location, free beverages, benefits are okay

    Cons

Upper management is very young, immature thinking. Most managers are just out of college, no real experiences, first job out of school. No direction, no communication. Employees are hung out to dry. Departments do not communicate with each other. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing, and policies change daily. Employees are dissatisfied, turn over is constant. Not one women in management or supervisory role.

    Advice to Management

Reevaluate your processes and your management team. Get out of producing products in JIT, Just in time. purchase more than one for one components. Listen to the production workers and don't make promises to customers that you just can't keep. Stop finger pointing, looking for someone to blame.
