I worked at McCue full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Finance team members were the best I've ever worked with...and I've been working a long, long time.

    Cons

No work/life balance...at all ! Finance Dept grossly understaffed creating a very stressful environment and management could care less. CEO's eye is always on his bonus and will do anything to make it, even if it's at the employees expense.

    Advice to Management

Nothing can save this sinking ship.

I worked at McCue full-time for more than a year

    Pros

People are nice enough- not good at their jobs, not well educated. But nice. Free fruit

    Cons

Executive team would spend 3-6 days a year at off-sites to come up with or revise an operating plans that were essentially the direction the CEO wanted to take the company that year and then within 2 months of putting the plan into motion he change his mind and blames ET for a bad plan. Managers are constantly on edge due to the blame game and take the stress out on their downline. People are constantly promoted to...

I have been working at McCue full-time

    Pros

Occasional free meals, extravagant holiday parties, nice offices and facilities.

    Cons

Inexperienced, incompetent management, poor decision making, terrible morale.

    Advice to Management

Promoting from within just continues to add more people immersed in the McCue rhetoric. Adding people to manage from external sources has many advantages, and could possibly root out the incompetent and untalented amongst the management team. The morale here has taken a huge hit since the owner sold to the Equity firm, and continuing to push the failing Material Handling division is taking away focus on the bread and...

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at McCue full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    The company benefits are average.

    Cons

Management don't care about their employees, especially the honest, hard workers. Middle management runs a high conflict and hostile work place. The good people do not last long in this company; good people get harassed by managers. Company does not reward hard workers, it rewards bad management.

    Advice to Management

Get a real professional to school your managers, someone who can shut down the hostile employees...you know who they are.

I worked at McCue full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great area where the office was located

    Cons

I was in the job 6mnths before they told me that I was over-qualified for my position and fired me. They then cost me a job offer because the hr rep wouldn't get back to the co just to verify my dates of employment. After reading all the reviews here, I can understand why, they have no HR rep or dept, and the Payroll rep is doing her job along with the HR Reps job.

I have been working at McCue full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The people who work here are fantastic. We are a big family here. There is a genuine interest in who you are as an employee and who you are as a person and your family. There is always a lot of laughter and fun. There is an art to being fun and doing your job. You spend 40 hours a week at your job, you should enjoy it. I love my job and would not have it any other way. New ideas are always welcomed and encouraged. The...

    Cons

There is always a lot going on. If you have a sense of multi-tasking and time management you will do very well. You have to be a team player. Every person makes a difference here and has a job to do. Each person must do their job individually and as a team together within your departments. If you like a team work atmosphere, then you would be fine. Overall this is a great company to work for.

    Advice to Management

All of the Management Team has grown within the company. Every member of the Management Team and the Executive Team have held different roles within the company. The growth potential for new hires is the limit. Advice: continue doing what you are doing.

I worked at McCue full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The building is nice and open with an exercise room. Some nice people working there, unfortunately they are just beaten down.

    Cons

The management is overbearing. David McCue has no respect for anyone that works for him. He will ask for your opinion, and then tell you what your opinion should be. The retail product line is on the decline, as few new stores are built. They are holding market share, but he market is dwindling. If you really need some experience on your resume, you could get a reference, but nobody stays long.

    Advice to Management

Have some respect for your employees...and stop posting the FAKE glass door reviews. It is just SAD!

I have been working at McCue full-time

    Pros

Great benefits, free fruit, innovative, convenient location. Did I say free fruit? Young, intelligent employees. Workout room and great kitchen

    Cons

The turnover is unheard of in today's world. Fire people without legitimate reasons. Poor middle management and even worse upper management. A high school marketing department that doesn't even come close to supporting a weak and inexperienced sales staff. Upper management is a pathetic group that does not grasp the theory of management. IT staff that is overwhelmed and unresponsive to even the littlest requests....

    Advice to Management

Walk the walk. Treatment of employees and ex-employees is deplorable! Mgmt has no issue trashing a current or former employees as a joke or punchline. These are real people! CEO who will agree then disagree because it's his prerogative and reports to nobody. Everyone in management will talk about integrity and honesty but will end up gossiping and treating employees like dirt behind their back. My advice: while your...
