I have been working at Meru Networks (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I started an intern learned a lot .. it was an excellent experience and great folks .... what else to ask for ?

    Cons

Nothing specific every thing went smooth for me. Guess I am lucky with my experience

    Pros

Excellent technical architecture, solves a lot of Wi-Fi problems and can support many different use cases. Easy to configure

    Cons

Early in my tenure there were a lot of code quality problems. They also had a hardware problem with a particular model of controller that was causing a ton of problems in the field. They turned that around, but it was too late in the game. The Wi-Fi hardware manufacturing space does not have room for too many competitors to Cisco, Aruba and Ruckus.

    Advice to Management

Management sold out to Fortinet for a song. The line is now known as Fortinet Infrastructure Wireless. I hope that they keep developing the architecture.

I worked at Meru Networks full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Meru (acquired by Fortinet) has a committed team that has delivered industry leading wireless infrastructure to thousands of customers worldwide.

    Cons

Now that the company has been acquired by Fortinet, it will be important for the acquiring management team to integrate the Meru team and products without disrupting the innovative spirit and energy that helped Meru build some of the industry's higher performing wireless access points.

I worked at Meru Networks full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

none left. company once had many smart people, few they left and remaining left or leaving. new recruits are hardly staying more than a year.

    Cons

new engg management is real bad, dishonest and disrespectful. due to bad financial conditions, staff is reduced to less than half, engineers are given too much work and firing threats are given openly. new recruits are needed only for first 6 months and then treated like use and throw. and of course, buck stops at top management.

    Advice to Management

culture in engg is toxic and loser.

I worked at Meru Networks full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Technology clearly different (and better in specific apps) than competition
Great example of "best of breed" versus going with Juniper or Cisco
Good focus on key verticals (healthcare, education, etc.)

    Cons

Lack of marketing - market does not know how good Meru technology is
Need to make WLAN compatible with all devices
No one market seems to embrace Meru (maybe focus on just education?)
    Few partnerships that matter
