    Pros

Great benefits and pretty good pay. Nice celebrations. Trunk or treat for our families is awesome! Like the charitable side in the community.

    Cons

    high overtime sometimes in production

    Advice to Management

Don't overlook internal candidates for opportunities so they don't go looking for greener grass - they don't know it is not always there.

I worked at Michigan Automotive Compressor full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

the work was steady and there was plenty of overtime available. the work environment was safe and well maintained. the benefit package was fair.

    Cons

the climate control was a problem in the summer and it would get to hot. the no fault point system was a problem for me, i was terminated because my house burned down....i was terminated due to absences related to my house burning down. i was terminated over 1/2 a point.

    Advice to Management

next time someone has their house burn down try to bend the rules, it was horrible to go through the loss of my residence and then be terminated because of it. i am still bitter about it.

I worked at Michigan Automotive Compressor full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

loads of overtime and breaks throughout the day. A good place to get your foot in the door to manafacturing.

    Cons

It's very hard to actually stay at a certain job in the factory because everyone talks bad to your supervisor for petty reasons. I was fired from a job inside for asking for help taking out the scrap from a machine. Because my co-worker said that I hurt my back which never happened.

    Advice to Management

Don't just listen to your hired in employees because half of the time their lying to you just to make their job easier because they don't want to work with a new person.

I worked at Michigan Automotive Compressor full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Salary plus hourly after 88 hrs bi-weekly. Flex ability in schedule. Core hours 10am-3pm. Many management levels - assistant TL thru senior manager.

    Cons

Too many hours. Management expectations are too high without proper support or staffing. Extreme favoritism. Uneven workload among peers. Very political.

    Advice to Management

    Look elsewhere

I have been working at Michigan Automotive Compressor full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Health benefits are pretty decent.

    Cons

Management will continue to push salary associates to work long hours without any form of compensation. Management support and communication is weak.

    Advice to Management

Better communication, support your employees. After all MACI's number one asset is "supposed" to be their employees.

I have been working at Michigan Automotive Compressor full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Largest diversity of manufacturing processes under one roof in North America. There are 1000+ machines in the facility that cover nearly everything from die casting to assembly.

    Cons

Due to the large number of temporary employees, there is a tremendously high turnover rate on the production floor. This translates over to relatively poor training of operator-level employees, thus relative production instabilities.

    Advice to Management

More time dedicated to thoroughly training employees would certainly payoff.

    Cons

Long hours, lackluster management for the most part.
