I have been working at Moffitt Cancer Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

401K, pay is decent. Workloads are good.

    Cons

Like everyone else. Favoritism and if the boss favors you. Discrimination against one shift over another. Disciplinary action based on peer complaints with no facts. No real opportunity for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Treat everyone the same. Quit promoting only favorites and ALL positions should be offered to everyone. Not creating positions and just giving it someone with no one else being aware to apply for it.

I worked at Moffitt Cancer Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good 401(k), PTO accumulates fast, remote work

    Cons

Low wages for the amount of work required. Will not promote and Sr. Staff is hired base on who they know, not what they know. Tuition reimbursement is just for medical staff.

I worked at Moffitt Cancer Center part-time

    Pros

    Good pay, Flexible hours,

    Cons

I worked here for about 3 months but got terminated for my attendance. I had to correct HR and Management that my Managers forgot to write down when i switched shifts etc. It ultimately said i was late an hour twice and had 3 call outs. Keep in mind i was a full time student at the time and i guess they would rather me work sick in a hospital and not be there when a relative passes away. Was let go after probation period and thankfully had another job lined up. Never again will i ever work for this corrupt place.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to schedule people correctly and to accumulate better management skills

    Pros

People and patients are great. The employees are what makers this place so great. Management mostly stays out of the way

    Cons

None Probably just all of nursing but there's always something else that needs to be done and trained in. Senior management is nowhere to be seen.

    Advice to Management

    Better benefits package

    Pros

Employed by a well recognized and respected hospital.

    Cons

With Moffitt you must be a Butt Kisser. Training for this position is substandard to say the least. If you are hispanic you will go far. If you are African American you can expect nothing.

    Advice to Management

What management???? My advise to the Manager of Revenue Cycle would be hire real managers not people referred to you through your hispanic community who has no managerial skills.

    Pros

Really strives to provide patients and employees with the best care and attention they can

    Cons

The tend to recognize certain jobs over others. If you're a little person on the totem pole you are not as thoroughly appreciated as jobs above yours.

    Advice to Management

Show ALL the employees that you care about them through an atmosphere of respect and an HONEST evaluation of what a competitive salary looks like.

I worked at Moffitt Cancer Center full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours (at least in research they are); decent pay (usually about mid-range for comparable positions across the US); okay benefits; large well-known organisation with good mission.

    Cons

They are all about who you know and how close you (or your manager) is with the senior management. I call it "Big Boy's Club" (and I have 7+ years of experience to support that statement). Also, your pay will very much depend on that too (I know people got paid 20% more for exactly the same position, because their boss was close to the "Big Boys"). They say that there is "market analysis" to support the pay which is true, but of course there are endless ways to bend that truth if need be.
