    Pros

Leadership ready to do whatever it takes to achieve success and help their employees grow.

    Cons

We are in a changing market and have to constantly be ready to evolve with those changes.

    Advice to Management

Continue to invest in your people-- they will continue to invest in you.

    Pros

Worked with a great bunch of people

    Cons

Parent company had no idea how to run a business; the ship was/is sinking and unfortunately they have no idea who to hire to steer the ship.

    Advice to Management

You still have some good employees; listen to them. Close the offices that are unable to stop the hemorrhaging.

I have been working at Morris full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice, grounded people. Decent pay for management positions. Flexible schedule. Good experience for entry level sellers and good vacation time.

    Cons

There is zero communication or strategy coming from their corporate headquarters in Augusta. All departments are understaffed. Recently a lot of good people resigned or got laid off. While they have done some great things with digital - all sites have embarrassing amount of traffic.

    Advice to Management

Mr Morris relays on a revolving door of consultants to navigate business decisions and doesn’t trust his own employees to tell him what’s broken. My advice, listen to the field when they tell you what they need. Stick with one direction for more than six months. Invest in your people and departments...fast.

    I worked at Morris full-time

    Pros

A great place to work if you like working with print publications, one of the few left.

    Cons

Raises are almost non-existent and the emphasis is on sales not the quality of the product.

    Advice to Management

Invest more in your products and your people. You have many wonderful, dedicated employees that are ground down by the ever increasing workload and lack of raises.

    Pros

Individual field offices have a lot of autonomy. This is good if you have an involved local manager that leads by example.

    Cons

Poor communication from upper management. Unclear, disjointed mission.

    Advice to Management

Need to frequently, and clearly communicate direction and then lead by example. Get involved.

    Cons

Just about everything else. They outsourced their corporate IT to a company from India that they bought into. Service was not good. Desperately tried to soak every penny out of the business before selling. No raises for like 10 years for anyone.

    Advice to Management

    Retire

You never have to see the people that you report too. You get invited to lots of fun events and have fun opportunities.

    Cons

No one to answer. The worst management known to man. Stupid decisions. No direction. Fly by seat of the pants decisions. Lie during interviews. Don't have a clue about their markets. No money. Ever. Bad benefits. Ridiculous expectations. No investment in people, products or hardware.

    Advice to Management

    Give up.

I have been working at Morris full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Unique opportunities depending on your role. Because the lack of management, most employees have the opportunity to work from home and make their own schedules.

    Cons

Overall, the company is experiencing a rapid decline in almost every market. There are no raises and there is extremely poor communication between the local markets and the corporate headquarters. Such a high turnover rate is unheard of, and it places more stress on the long time employees. Most processes are broken and outdated.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees or someone else will. It should be a requirement that all upper level management have a strong understanding of digital media. Without that knowledge, management will surely fail as society turns more digital everyday.
