I have been working at Motionsoft full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    * Exciting product and industry that's always evolving
    * Heavily focused on creating a fun work environment for employees
    * Tons of opportunities for growth and learning
    * Motivating and hard working executive leadership team
    * Great co-workers - I work with some of the smartest, most talented people I've ever known. We are all constantly learning and most everyone is very team oriented.

    Cons

    * Lots of hours - still a little bit like a start up where everyone does whatever it takes
    * Can be high stress at times - have to remember there are ebbs and flows
    * Demanding customers - we work with some of the biggest in the business and they know what they want and when they want it. Have to stroke some egos sometimes, but isn't that kind of everywhere? :)
    * No women in leadership roles

    Advice to Management

    * Keep up with the quarterly all hands meetings and keeping employees in the loop
    * Keep doing employee functions - the summer picnic, end of the year party and different events sprinkled in between are so nice to look forward to

    4. Metro accessible
    5. Free gym membership!
    6. Pretty cool office space
    7. Great employee get togethers
    8. Upward mobility was becoming possible when I was leaving which was a big + given there was no such thing before!

    Cons

    1. Benefits are a bit pricey
    2. Project surges that are sometimes a bit overwhelming
    3. Hire more people faster

    Advice to Management

Keep plugging away and try and get some backup for your people. Your team loves you or they wouldnt stick around but people will get tired

    Pros

-Great open door policy with all senior and management staff.
-Al knows everyone by name and takes the time to make conversation and ask about your kids
-Work Hard, Play Hard is a common theme. Fun activities to do such as wine & cheese night, summer picnic at the Nats Stadium, bowling alley for the holiday party, food truck party, casino night etc.
-beautiful new space in Rockville that encourages interaction with co-workers due to the work furniture/layout.
-wonderful staff and from my experiences, everyone does lend a hand when needed.

    Cons

    health insurance is expensive
compensation is lower than what I needed

    Advice to Management

its always busy around here and often personal training advancements are overlooked due to the more pressuring items at hand. Better processes in place are needed for such a fast growing company.

    Pros

Fast growing company in a very dynamic space - the health and fitness industry

    Cons

Some initial product challenges that the company is working through

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the staff that got you into the product rewrite project regardless of how difficult the change may be. The space is booming and the company has to come first. NO SACRED COWS!

I worked at Motionsoft full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Product and industry is sort of neat

    Cons

Management focus changes weekly so the priorities constantly shift. Nobody cares that you just finished what was the priority three weeks ago, that should have taken six weeks to do. They are already on to the next fire.
