I have been working at MutualBank full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Most managers are understanding and are great leaders. MutualBank has a pretty good vacation and benefits package. At the financial center level, it feels like a very family oriented company.

    Cons

MutualBank has been growing over the last few years, and sometimes communication is lacking between the regions. The culture is also shifting towards more sales for tellers. Since the company is founded in Muncie, it's sometimes frustrating that not all positions are offered in other regions, limiting job movement within the company.

I have been working at MutualBank full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

MutualBank really does care about their employees and customers! Paid appointment time is a great perk that other companies don't offer. If you work hard, there is plenty of room for career advancement!

    Cons

Seems a bit behind in salary in the banking industry.

I have been working at MutualBank full-time

    Pros

Great benefits: Vacation, paid doctor's appointments, 401k, ESOP. Friendly, team environment. Great products. VERY easy to have a free checking. Rates are competitive. Uchoose Rewards is great. Offers big bank products with small bank service.

    Cons

Upper management. You cannot sit on your hands while one of your most important departments loses employee after employee after employee and ignore what the real problem is: their manager. You are losing extremely valuable assets because of a single person.

Raises leave a LOT to be desired. A fixed 3% raise would be great if we made decent money to begin with.

    Advice to Management

    Please stop the favoritism.

Have employees evaluate managers and actually act when certain management get complaints and are known problems

I have been working at MutualBank full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great culture of working well together as a team. Strong vision of helping and giving back to the community. Driven for results while balancing a healthy work-life balance. Generous vacation time, generous 401(k) employer match, opportunities to earn incentives, ongoing training, caring leadership team, provides growth from within.

    Cons

No place is perfect and any "cons" are not unique to MutualBank. Management does a great job considering the impact on employees in its decision making. The culture is a little slow to embrace change. It's possible there could be efficiency found in systems, better collaboration, and greater use of technology.

    Advice to Management

I would encourage Management to continue to learn, grow and develop in their roles, understand changing trends in management (and leadership) to most effectively lead and manage teams.

    Advice to Management
