I worked at NKC as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great pay. Union workers that are trained correctly. Great communication between on site managers and corporate headquarters.

    Cons

None. It was an honor. Wished they had more for me to do.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

I worked at NKC full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Paychecks are given weekly. Every now and then, free lunch is provided by the company. A lot of the lower level employees are very friendly.

    Cons

Very poor direction from management. They will put you on a project without without giving you all the details you need to complete it. Asking questions is frowned upon. If you ask a question about the project you are working on, the managers, won't answer your question and act as if they are annoyed you even asked it. They are very condescending and treat their employees very poorly. Be careful about going to work for this company.

    Advice to Management

Work better with your employees. Please make sure they are on the right track when you give them a project.

I worked at NKC as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Controlled working environment. Direct management support.

    Cons

The instability of the Automotive Sales Market can affect the companies growth, wherein lay-offs can often occur!

    Advice to Management

Incorporate a new manufacturing model to include a higher percentage of goods and services which are manufactured and sold, that are not directly dependent on the Automotive Industry's success!

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

They pay weekly and have dedicated support employees. A lot of good people have dedicated the life to working for this company.

    Cons

One of the worst run companies i have ever been at. The current US executive management has the company bleeding money and blaming the customers it.

    Advice to Management

Restructure the operations so the customer is first and quality is measured. Recovery is needed soon while the damage can be mitigated. People work hard and the environment should be one of gratitude for such dedicated employees. Turn it around before the only good people left are the ones that are stuck there.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at NKC part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Long-time customer relationships built with large car manufacturers.

    Cons

Horribly negative environment. Non-existent, non-trained management. "Management" regards employees as robots--life outside of work shouldn't exist and you will work as much as your boss wants. No advancement opportunities. When making efforts to learn and ask questions, management defers answering questions and instructs people to "look it up on your own." This company is stuck in the past and is clueless with how to manage employees of varying backgrounds and cultures. No one handles stress well at the company. Horrible project planning. No risk management team. Egregious efficiency levels with regards to everything.

    Advice to Management

Get all new management or send everyone to management training. Out of the many companies I worked for, by far the worst management I've ever seen.
