Pros

Bonuses, flexible time(when workload is not to much)

Cons

Lack of advancement opportunities(most employees have their PE and they do not have much interest in expanding the company to accommodate the necessary growth), compensation is less than competitive, benefits are average(used to be better than industry average, but now it is not), work life balance is lacking, holds a master degree ahead of years experience.

Thank you for sharing your feedback and letting us know your concerns. As NTM Engineering strives to be an employee-focused firm, we take your comments seriously and will evaluate your concerns to see if there are ways to improve. We strive to ensure that everyone is given an equal opportunity to grow on our team by providing a wide range of training opportunities and exposure to various types of projects. We do understand that due to the nature of our work, sometimes staff are working on extremely large projects and may not have as much variety as they would like while they are on that project. We understand our workload challenges and have been actively advertising for additional positions to address our workload. Throughout the pandemic, NTM has followed federal and state requirements, while also ensuring we can meet the needs of our clients to deliver their projects and ultimately, safeguarding the long-term health of our company. With the constant changes in federal and state policies due to the pandemic, this has been very challenging to navigate, and we have tried to stay extremely flexible with our policies to meet the needs of our staff. There are numerous ways that our staff can share concerns with management, including talking to their own supervisor, HR, and/or any of the principals. NTM has an open-door policy, and all staff members are invited to reach out to us internally to voice their concerns and we can work to address them. Sincerely, Donna M. Newell, PE President

Pros

Team building and collaboration amongst coworkers was better at NTM than other companies. It was good is some ways and in some groups. And there were individuals who exhibited the characteristics mentioned below.

Cons

However, with respect to the complaint the person made in 2021 as it pertained to a lack of advancement opportunities and growth that is not likely to happen unless people work together as a more cohesive team as opposed to being focused on individual achievements and goals. It is good to feel valued, heard, and recognized, and It is not wrong to want to advance in one's career, but if the focus is instead on how one can support leadership, and on how one can support and build up others finding ways to utilize everyones' strengths including their diverse skills and backgrounds then there would be growth opportunities that would arise as a result of the high quality work, innovation, and ingenuity. There is always the opportunity to build up someone(s) else who could include leaders and peers at similar levels, and helping them to achieve more, learn more, see different perspectives, or help them to overcome adversity or help them through a challenging situation is one way to allow for there to be growth personally, as a team, and as a company. It is difficult to be appreciative of what you do have when there is nothing to compare it to, but there are so many people who faced so much adversity because of their background and who they are that they have had to struggle immensely to have any opportunities at all (ie; they haven't had the support they needed to get their license, to advance in their education, they struggled to find a company who would hire them or allow them to be an engineer despite their abilities and technical qualifications, and/or struggled financially as a result not having enough food to eat, furniture, a roof over their head, or money to cover medical expenses). Despite how daunting the lack of growth opportunities may seem be appreciative and grateful for the opportunities you do have. Try to focus on the positive.

Pros

Employee focused firm. Principals truly care about all employees and have created a culture unlike any other workplace I've ever been. They lead by example and work with all employees to help develop career goals and then set a path for them to be achieved. Professional development opportunities are endless. Could not image working anywhere else. Yearly high rankings in PA Best Places to Work speaks for itself.

Cons

I have no cons at this time.
