I worked at Nedcor full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The best reason to work at Nedbank is great co-workers.

    Cons

Unfortunately, Nedbank does not value it's employees. People are seen as cogs in a wheel, not as value adding individuals. Generally job satisfaction is low, and more employees are leaving (and not being replaced) so employee retention is at an all time low.

    Advice to Management

As the saying goes, "put your money where your mouth is." Nedbank is falling further and further behind because it is so risk averse.

    Cons

No downsides, I started when we were running a new campaign. I started in the call center and ended up as a legal controller. Lots of experienced gained.

    Advice to Management

    Invest in your staff.

    Pros

Flexible Work options; Excellent leave policy; Great networking opportunities; Fantastic working environment; Knowledgeable colleagues; Superb on-site amenities; Endoresement of work / life balance; Fantastic learning opportunities.

    Cons

Growth opportunities are not always readily available to staff. There is too much red tape in getting things approved. Similary work experiences are not consistent across all areas of Nedbank.

    Advice to Management

So often feedback is solicted from employees through standard and independant surveys and often nothing happens with that information that is gathered. If Nedbank want to move forward, they must start listening to their staff.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Great benefits and culture especially if you are a woman in the organization. Depending on which business unit you work for, there are great development opportunities.

    Cons

Transperancy is an issue as far as how some individuals are recognised and promoted. Senior management is still predominately white and makes transformation look a bit discouraging at a junior management level

    Advice to Management

It's really important to nurture talent from a junior management level and to make these employees feel valued and a part of the company.
