I worked at Nowcom full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people and open door upper and mid level management. There are tons of people that you can learn from and plenty of opportunity to grow and work on many different projects at Nowcom. Management is easy to talk to and are always willing to help with any issues you may have. The business itself is growing at a really fast rate, and is not slowing down. Nowcom is an innovator in the auto industry.

There are two company trips a year.
    Gym in office.
Located in a beautiful area of LA
Lots of opportunities to apply your knowledge to current projects and also learn other things.

    Cons

Cross department communication can be lacking sometimes, but has gotten better over my time here. Benefits can be lacking when it comes to PTO/Holidays, and some were not happy about medical, but general work/life balance is great.

    Advice to Management

Continue listening to your employees and hearing what they have to say, it really puts confidence in them and ups morale.

    I worked at Nowcom full-time

    Pros

Fairly compensated for the work performed.

    Cons

The personal BS that you have to deal with outweighs the job.

I have been working at Nowcom full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    1. Upper Management has an 'Open Door' policy, where any employee can directly approach the CEO, or COO, VPs or any other upper management and is always welcome. In my 10+ years of working here, I have never seen the CEO close his doors to anyone who wants to approach him.
    2. Upper management is closely involved in day to day operations of all departments - IT, Sales, Support. This keeps everyone on their toes and focused on their deliverable.
    3. Everyone works in a friendly atmosphere but employees will really work very hard when they have to.
    4. The Annual summer and winter retreats and other extra curricular activities that the company offers for the employee is a bonus!

    Cons

    1. Medical benefits could be better, but need to understand that they are consistent for all the sister companies as well.

    Advice to Management

To keep employees posted on the company's financial situation, sales, etc. is a good way to keep the average worker motivated, and for him/her to understand the bigger picture.

I have been working at Nowcom full-time

    Pros

Nowcom provides comprehensive IT solutions for its six sister companies under Hankey group. There are various projects you will be able to work on because the sister companies are growing fast. Nowcom is also prompt at adapting new technologies. Most people are always willing to help you. Managers and executives including President are smart and friendly, easy to talk to anytime.

    Cons

There are much to be done in short timeline, which results in "pressure" and "working late" sometimes. It is not easy to put enough time on software design and architect. Mainly because it is the engineer who has to collect the requirement and follow up everything.

    Pros

The pay was good and the staff was friendly (most people eat together in the lunch room). Everyone is working towards a goal. They are always improving processes (both SDLC and infrastructure). Stress is not an issue and the workload is not overwhelming. The CEO is exceptional, he understands almost every aspect of the business, is fair, and listens to everyone. The 2 yearly retreats are an amazing perk that you just don't see in most established companies. The middle level managers are also good.

    Cons

My boss was not a good manager. We did not agree on how software development should be done. I have a history of working on multi-disciplinary teams and I believe it is effective. He did not, and implemented a more task oriented approach which, for me, takes the fun out of development.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up. This company should be wrapping up a great 2016.

I have been working at Nowcom full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Nowcom is a great place to work and i have been with them for over 10 years.
Here are a few reasons behind that:
Great benefits that include 2 company trips in a year to great locations, high 401K matching and very good bonus besides other standard benefits.
Open communication is promoted where people can talk to the management and vice-versa without hesitation or going through red tape.
Management does a good job of ensuring that politics are pretty much non-existent in the company.
Stays with current times by adapting new technologies faster and that gives employees room for personal growth.
Employees are encouraged to learn and also teach by conducting  periodic training sessions.
Option to visit the offshore office and work with those teams.

    Cons

Ofcourse there are a few caveats but nothing you wont find anywhere else.
Like long working hours during major project implementations and releases.
Formal dress code for an IT Company.
    Maintenance of some legacy applications.

    Pros

There are quite a number of reviews, some are very positive and some are very bad. The truth is, people of different personalities get very different experience from working with Nowcom. If you don't know much about this company, why not do your own research and confirm the following:
    - Relatively small company in the automotive dealership software industry
    - Has been around for 20 years
    - Top management are people who grew up in the software industry
    - Backed by stable financial sources from its own software sales and services for the companies in the Hankey Investment Group
    - Constantly trying new things to offer in the automotive IT world, for both dealers and end consumer

    Cons

    - Work hours can be long, and with LA traffic, people don't get much personal time at home.
    - Employee benefits is more in line with traditional companies and not as competitive as other tech companies

    Pros

Pay is decent and they have snacks in the dirty break room.

    Cons

They change your comp plan every month so its impossible to make more money. They up your goals to make the same amount. Also, Management is sketchy. If you want to be favored sleep with the manager with dirty teeth

    I worked at Nowcom full-time

    Pros

Everything! Yes, you heard it right. It has been a terrific experience at Nowcom. None of the companies are perfect, you as an employee should give your best shot at what you are hired for. I always realized that you are given respect, motivation and yes the dollars too if you are good and prove to be different and think unique at this company. Before you know you are climb up high and the best part you are so busy in a happy way that you wont even realize it.

    Cons

Well. Nothing is perfect, not even our home. So, one can not expect what you get in to is made in gold and is perfect in every way. But, the best part about this company is the open door policy. You can walk up to VP, SVP, CTO or even the president to share your thoughts around something or some one. May be actions will not be taken immediately which is not possible on a company of size as this. But, for the most part attention will be given if you voiced out opinions that have validity and things to back up. Most common problems I have noticed were Process related, but, I have always had a trick up my sleeve to combat these. ;)

    Advice to Management

You guys rock!! Miss you. :)
