I have been working at Object Partners full-time for less than a year

    Pros

They treat their employees with respect and have fostered a culture of friendly, intelligent, responsible, and interesting (in a good way) people. Salary + benefits are generous. There is very little (if any) drama or corporate BS internally at Object Partners. You get opportunities to work with new technology, teams, products, companies, and industries, which if you love learning and find change exciting/energizing...

    Cons

If you aren't self-motivating and you have a hard time when a decision maker doesn't take your advice (even if it is most likely the best solution), then maybe consulting isn't a good fit. This is not a fault of Object Partners, as they are upfront about what the life of software consulting is like (if you haven't done consulting before), but more about some of the challenges of being on assignment as a contractor.

    Advice to Management

Keep company values simple and stick to them.

I have been working at Object Partners full-time for more than a year

    Pros

OPI is the best in the business when it comes to hiring talented engineers and their benefits/perks can't be matched.

    Cons

Client work can be hit or miss but that's the nature of consulting at times. If you're good enough at what you do you can start to drive your client work a little more.

I have been working at Object Partners full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Fantastic benefits and people. Fully-paid medical, short & long-term disability, and a fantastic amount of paid sick leave are all available to help during trying times. Regular social functions to help keep everyone connected, and only a phone call away from upper management if you need something.

    Cons

There's some project work, but mostly it's consulting and workforce augmentation which means your day-to-day experience will be governed more by your client. Nature of the business, though, and the salespeople are always willing to work out an exit strategy if you aren't happy at a client.

    Advice to Management

The next condo should be someplace with skiing

I have been working at Object Partners full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Cool location, you won't ever work there, but it was fun to visit. If gimmick benefits are your thing, this is the place for you. They've got them all. Beer kegs? They've got them. Snacks? Got'em. Cabins you can Rent? Got'em. Paid Healthcare? Got it. Being, effectively, a contractor you get to just show up do your job and go home. If you're looking for a job with less emotional investment, this isn't bad.

    Cons

It's contracting, so you're probably going to work for some bad companies. They didn't want to pay me as much as I thought I deserved, but I took it because I thought the benefits were pretty good. While this isn't false, they're really making up for it by paying below average and crunching every penny. You're probably better off in a place that covers less, but pays and cares more. The healthcare you're getting is...

Thank you for the feedback. While you make some very good points, there is quite a bit of misinformation in your review. We are very open and honest during our hiring and on-boarding process about what OPI is and how we operate. We lay it all out in front of you through multiple interviews ...

I have been working at Object Partners full-time

    Pros

Best benefits you can get. Pay is great. Trips and cabins you can visit all on your own. Everyone is really nice and supportive. They really look to trusting their employees and making sure that they remain happy with what they are doing to the best of their ability.

    Cons

Contracts can suck in big ways. Not really OPI's fault, and they do their best to get you out of situations if you are unhappy.

I have been working at Object Partners full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Amazing benefits, excellent coworkers, great pay, vacation homes, Mexico trips. OPI has it all and continues to make me happy. Great owner, great staff. I continue to enjoy the variety of contracts and the commitment to excellence by both management and the individual consultants. We ARE NOT contractors. We are employees that contribute to the company culture and technology community at large.

    Cons

Like any growing company, OPI can struggle with clear communication at times. However, OPI continues to work in positive directions to mitigate these issues and keep the focus on making the consultants happy.

I have been working at Object Partners full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Object Partners really takes care of their employees. Work / life balance is a high priority from the top down. They take great care not to burn out their employees. Overtime is available but not required and always paid. Engaging clients across various industries. OPI consultants are generally seen as the top consultants in the area. Plenty of opportunity to supplement client work by giving training classes, presenting...

    Cons

If you enjoy going to meetings and doing random online training courses then you probably won't like working as a consultant for OPI. And sometimes my spouse gets jealous of how many free lunches or fun happy hours the company offers to us as employees.

    Advice to Management

Continue to keep the amazing culture and valuing consultants as an asset in the organization as the company grows from a small to a medium size organization.

I have been working at Object Partners full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    * Challenging gigs - companies that bring us in really need help. * Really great benefits - vacation time, sick time, health insurance with HSA, Roth 401k, etc. * Happy hours, user groups, lunches, company meetings/events are available, but OPTIONAL if you don't want to deal with it. * You get paid for long hours or internal work (marketing, mentoring, etc.) if you choose to do so - they don't bleed you dry to show...

    Cons

    * If you WANT to transition from developer to "management", you won't find those sorts of opportunities here (that's fine for most programmers I know) * When we were in Mexico on the company trip, I got pretty sunburnt.
