It was a great experience to work with Dr. Richard "Chief" DeSa and team. Challenging, educational and memorable.
Pros
A good learning environment with real world impact in the research/medical/education sectors. Opportunities to work with and meet individuals from all over the globe. A team of coworkers that all stay interconnected on a daily basis; from sales to software to machining to tech support to production, they all stay in constant communication with each other keep the pulse of operations. Optional opportunities to 'go outside the box' and learn technical and scientific insights into analytical biochemistry from "Chief DeSa' and other lead scientists outside of the normal day-to-day workflow. The science is fascinating, but it demands the best in production practices to back it up. That's where this job can be really special, getting to collaborate to put out something you can be proud of.
Cons
Workflow can be inconsistent as this is the nature of commission-based instrumentation. There are periods of high order volume and low order volume, this can create natural stressors when considering supply chain availability on an on-demand basis, coupled with commissioned customizations and modifications that require time to produce. Expect busy times and slow times, and the need to be adaptable enough to balance the load.
